I'm off games at the moment, but took my lad down for the U10 race - which was a bit of a step-up for him from the U8's. I am genuinely shocked at the level of kit that pretty much all the other kids had - plenty of carbon, Oakley, SPDs etc etc. He was massively out of his depth on 20" wheels and crocs, the poor guy.
Have you removed all of the grass out of your rear mech yet?! Took me ages to clean his bike!

Can I ask - did you rate this as a kids bike? I'm considering the 24" equivalent for my soon to be 8 year old. He's done some of the local cx league but it would be mostly for bimbling around local gentle trails. I can't decide between this sort of thing or another kids MTB, which I feel would be more versatile, albeit slower and heavier.

Made it over to Antwerp at the weekend for some beers and to catch the Superprestige at Boom.
My first experience attending a proper big cross race and wow. Absolutely brilliant weekend all around, capped off with a strong ride from Cameron Mason who politely seemed to appreciate us chanting his name to the tune of 2Unlimited's 'No Limit'....

Ha no it was all good. The course is better suited to large numbers than some, so whilst the leaders will have had to deal with overtaking plenty of stragglers, everyone kept their cool. We had tons of volunteers marshalling and dealing with sign-on etc which helped a lot.
I was more concerned about dealing with 40+ sets of pushy parents in the U8s race....
That is quite... special.
