BMX is pretty bland these days
Right!
I can admit that I haven't been paying much attention recently, but a twix doesn't really float me boat -
• #778
It's all about style anyway right.
Its why guys like Mike Spinner fall off, I don't really care if you can do 5 tailwhips in a jump, that what nitro-shitty-circus is for -

About the only useful things that have changed are taller bars, shorter cranks and better working freecoasters.
Actually saying that, carbon frames, new ratchet/drive/hub designs and through axles on the racing side of things is nice

Stick a bafang motor on it and I’d ride it
-
• #781
Yeah I'd love a go as it is.
-
• #782
Maybe a dropper for getting to riding spots
-
• #783
The pedals look pretty painful for when the gnar shreds you.
-
• #784
Standard bmx/mtb stuff though right.
Love my kebab legs -
• #785
Also just invested in shin pads though, I'm getting older..

I’m still waiting for a long (or old-midschool) frame to turn up at the scrapyard. I have the Kush 1.0 with everything parts bin loosely assembled, but would really prefer something better in between the wheels.
Suppose at some point I should actually invest in a nice setup again. It’s my fault for selling the 90’s GT Pro Performer.

Found this a strange one. The outrage at WTP that is.
It was surely inevitable that it happen and noone seems bothered by the other Framebuilders that are knocking out full sus bmx stuff. It’s ok for an independent but not for a big company like wtp?

Who was outraged? Reuben? Not sure why they're so obsessed either.
Like I said before, I don't think this gonna add anything special to the bmx world.
Do they think it's gonna be some kind of commercial competition.First I'm hearing of the WTP full susser tbh. Is this just becoming some stupid fight over first to go to production?
Childish if so -

Rear disc brakes too, hate grinding the track dust into the rim. Some of the kids at Peckham had rizzla thin walls left.

• #791
Ah yes disc brakes, of course, haven't been to or watched a race in ages

Innovation baby!

new ratchet/drive/hub designs
That's because the DT Swiss patent expired, they'd probably been waiting around for that for a while, Mavic moved their entire range from their 2 pawl design to the star ratchet design.

I've seen a few designed tbh, including a magnetic one. Cant be bothered to look anything up. I'm on the opposite end of the scale with a freecoaster anyway, it's more than an eighth of a crank to engage 😅
-
• #797
Actually the fly magnetic magnetic me looks like a DT rip.

This must be it! BMX is pretty bland these days in terms of product design, what happened to all those George French designed Oydssey parts?
