We've had taps and waste in the middle, shower at one end for about 10 years with no issues.
One thing to watch out for is a dual ended bath has two head ends and no foot end. So the slope is shallower making the showeree stand further into the bath and possibly the bath will be more sloping underfoot. Probably unnoticeable (ours is fine) but in our last place the shower was at the head end of a single-ended bath which had a more pronounced slope, and with soapy feet I'd sometimes start sliding towards the plug. Very comic.

Aha a long range recco. Perfect! This is not as scary of a price as I feared.

Rads and skirts going on this week. By Thursday should be able to warm the house up and really dry out the walls. Heating has been off since April

Always found that really slows me down to start with. If you've been working in no heating, suddenly it seems so nice and warm, just want to relax and enjoy it!

It was ridiculous when it was freezing cold and there was no roof on. Way too cold to do anything that wasn't smashing stuff up.

Are they new rads? Where from?
-
• #40233
Yes. Wolseley.

Hurray! It'll make such a difference once you can have some heating on to work in.
In the next month or so I've got some new windows to cut in so I'm enjoying all the heat I can at the moment!!

Mine was all over the shop today but seems okay now.
Silly question but have you tried restarting the boiler again? If not then maybe the transmitter box to the nest near the boiler needs restarting?
-
• #40236
I've restarted the boiler and that didn't seem to do anything.
There's no light on the Heat Link at all - I've tried pressing the button for 10 seconds and 20 seconds (reset and factory reset times) and nothing.

I've always avoided anything that cold. I did some coach-building a couple of years ago in a big bus garage in Acton, I couldn't work out why I was having problems glueing veneer until I figured out it was 2 degrees.

No issues here :/

Could be that the fuse has gone maybe? Is it on a separate ring on the consumer unit?

Before they put the new bit of path in along the reservoir you had to cross the main road and go past Hopton Hall when you did a quick lap of the reservoir of an evening. That’s the only reason I’ve ever heard of it. Now with the new path you’ll never go near the place so will not know its even there.

Oooof- cutting it fine but it's looking like I'll be completing next Monday and spending Christmas surrounded by loads of boxes- less than 3 months from offer being accepted to move in.
Turns out that finding movers at such short notice is proving pretty tricky, any recommendations in the E17/4 area to E11?

Dont say that! You'll have me doubting my decision.... what's really wrong with showers over baths? Not my dream set up, but my for now set up...
Plan is to have a laundry and storage room, we have a kid on the way if all goes well and I've seen the state of other peoples houses after kids and I am not letting that happen to mine.
Planning to keep the plumbing in so if/when we get a loft done which gives us more bedrooms and storage the slice I'm taking off the bathroom can be turned into a wet room/walk in shower room/sauna.
I also kinda feel a massive grand bathroom in a tiny modest terrace house unbalances things, it would be the size of the spare bedroom which is madness. Friends who live local have much smaller bathrooms and extra rooms which just feels like it makes more sense (sadly we can't create a real usable room without some drastic plumbing and remodelling we don't have the appetite of money for.
Bit of a Ted talk. Sorry.

Hopton Hall was on the shortlist of wedding (number 1) venues. We ended up at Callow Hall, just outside Ashbourne, instead.

HUGE!
You are fucked.

Don't worry. As long as you've got a cleaner, a nanny and one of you doesn't work you'll be able to keep it looking exactly like it does right now.

24 hours to go. I have 3 million paper cuts from making up bastard boxes, and particularly bad one from opening a new roll of tape, bastard. Broke down the bastard double Pax wardrobes yesterday that no bastard wanted to buy so they're now coming with. Now mostly left with all the bastard fiddly bits that we needed to keep out for the last few bastard days.
I hate packing.
Bastard packing.
@Fox lived 20 mins from here for past 20 years and never heard of it. Just been reading up on it.
