I don't know what's happening with it yet. I can't see us repairing it but we've done worse but not as old/classic. I suspect the owner will get an offer from the insurance company. We'll see.

Don't let them scrap it that is still worth proper money even in that state :)
£60K to £100K in good nick for an M3 if it is genuine, looks like it five stud wheels, arches and spoiler.

That was my mate’s exact response. Shouldn’t be too expensive to repair (all things considered), and will still be worth a good chunk after.

Also @Fixedwheelnut and other knowledgeable e46 people.
Rear heating element seems to not be working. What’s the process for troubleshooting? Weirdly half of one bar at the very bottom seems to be half working. Hope I didn’t bodge the ribbon connection when doing the rear washer jet 😬
Also hoping there’s some simple check/fix that doesn’t need the removal of that bit of trim above the rear windscreen - the clips are just begging to break whenever you try and take it off. -

Firstly the top two or three lines are aerials not part of the HRW :)
You can check it with a voltmeter see if you are getting 12v one side and a good earth the other, it will only work with the engine running and if the battery state is poor it will switch it off to allow better battery charging.
Common faults are wires braking in the rubber sleeve by the tailgate hinge

guy at work had a V50 - said the 750gbp mechanical warranty he bought for it was the best thing he ever did, although his was a T5.

My dad gave me his pink Vauxhall cavalier many years ago. He t cut the bonnett back to to the original red , with an encouraging nod for me to finish the rest of it, which I obviously did not . Always meant to paint a white strip down the side a la starsky, but never got round to it..

Loved those pics DAmmit posted last time he had it done.
Will they polish the headlamps? Or is that what they look like and I've got too used to modern cars?

I owned a Tornado Red Corrado G60 that had turned several shades of Tornado Pink as old VW's do. I remember one cleaning session buffing the panels for hours and it was gleaming. The panels were hot to the touch and my dad had gone a bit over the top and buffed through the paint on the swage lines. It looked great for the afternoon and had started to fade again by the next morning.

Lol. Absolute heart breaker. Do you just need to add shitloads of wax or something? Car detailing is something I noped straight out of when all the how to videos were 30 mins long on YouTube.
