None at all.
This site is designed to be engaging by being the antithesis of all those dark patterns. It is what it is and there isn't an incentive for me to create any dark patterns as the financial basis for the site is donations... and it lives and dies by how valuable you feel it is.
That and the fact that I've made no changes in 6 years.
Elegantly put. @n3il does make a good point though, and like the saying says, correlation proves causation.
we all have new gravel bikes?

Yep, usually I avoid discussing politics at all with him but it was slightly unavoidable today. He does have a slightly more nuanced view on SA than some, but eeeesh... we don't see eye to eye...

True.
But even if Trump "wins" by stopping counting it'll get overturned in the courts eventually.
Checking the numbers it seems that to overturn the results Biden needs ~60-62% in those remaining states (except Georgia where he needs 67%) of the remaining ballots (numbers according to Grauniad).

I have non-public version of our paths-to-270 interactive where I can enter in provisional ratings instead of calling states outright. If you treat NV, AZ and WI as "likely Biden", NC as "likely Trump", and GA, PA and MI as "toss-up", then Biden is 83% to win eventually.

It's akin to adding the prefix Democratic to your country's name.

Biden just flipped back to the favourite over Trump on Betfair, after getting to 4.0/4.1 last night.
I do always wonder how much of that is wishful thinking money though.

Did anyone else see that 5Live’s coverage was hosted by noted political commentator Colin Murray? Jesus.

William Hill odds were stacked in Trump's favour at 0640 UK time and are now basically level pegging.

We don't have that here in China, but we do have posters on every available surface with the 12 core socialist values, one of which is democracy. Others include freedom, friendship and harmony. Things we have in abundance here. The core values have (apparently, I've never seen it) occasionally been performed as interpretative dance.

Any idea when it’s best to tune in for the verdict? Of the election, not the supreme court.

PA say they could be counting 'til Friday and could very conceivably be the deciding state.

I can imagine the right wing nutjobs from all over descending to 'stand watch' outside the critical counts as we speak...

The news are so saturated now it's hard to see the small things.
Were there reports of significant election day intimidation, violence, obstruction etc? What have the Proud Boys, Bogaloo Boys etc up to all this time?I saw mention on reddit of Trump supporters blocking bridges (for some reason) but couldn't figure out if it was proper armed road blocks or just someone making a fake traffic jam for example.
I would hate for Trump to be able to turn the "Stand by and stand back" to his advantage.
if they are of a certain age, ask them how they feel about having benefitted massively from an oppressive, dehumanising regime at the expense of people whose only crime was not being white.
