What time is it? Watches and horology

I'm looking for an alternative with a glass crystal. That Casio ^^ has an easily-scratched plastic lens.

Thanks for the heads up on Timex though. Have you only had bad experience with recent Timex watches, or old ones, or both?

Re: Timex - both. The most recent one was Timex Expedition Indiglo, within 1 year the date stopped working. And all the watch shops say they don’t even touch Timex and as it’s not worth fixing.

Might not be to your taste. But my Dad had one of these for at least 15 years and put it through the ringer
I've got it now and it's rough around the edges but still works just as well as on day one. Aesthetics may put you off but it's a nice size and shape.

There's a small crack between 12 and 1 where he dropped a cold chisel on it...pretty tough!

Hamilton have been really pushing these in the New York Times and Washington Post for the last few weeks. Looks a bit Breitlingy!

I've had a couple with the plastic case and I don't remember ever hearing it. Maybe if I jammed it against my ear.

Mine is within that. I didn’t take it off. Will check again this evening.

Cheers. Just worry about noise with cheap non-digi quartz.

Timex seemed ok, lest my Waterbury one which still kept on ticking accurately.

Sail cloth strap arrived today and on the Magrette
Before and after fitting below. As mentioned quite a rigid strap, shame they haven’t any lairy colours as I really like it on the orange zulu. The blue is quite nice though.
