  • Ah Interesting. What kind of things?

  • That sounds ultra tedious and would involve a lot of words I'm not trying to teach the eldest.

Will probably just replace with SKS and ask around if anyone is interested in a VO pair so we can split.

  • Fork dropouts not lined up, insert through axle and centre line of where the axle meets the dropout on other side was about 10mm off, no box damage, had to heat the fork dropout and bend it with a big bar. Lines up fine now but paint cracked, blew some lacquer over it to prevent rust.
Rear dropout cracked at mudguard eyelet, folded over about 30-40 degrees, no damage to box or packaging. Looks like it was struck at factory, then had cardboard tube zip tied over it to prevent further damage in transit. Neither of which omnium would have known about, just shit that comes out of factories from time to time, unlucky I guess.

  • First post!

Working on a cargobike designed by Phil Vandelay. Bought plans from him and welded it up in my garage :)
Will install Bafang mid-drive soon and paint it in bright yellow :)

Frame just in primer now, but will be painted as soon as Im done with my kitchen renovation.

Got a hold of an groupset from an older Bullitt bike which will be the ising on the cake! Alfine 8 speed will be a good match with the Mid-drive!

  • Love this!
Looks like the motor will be welcome, can't be lightweight with those profiles.

  • quick question has anyone got a cargo bike through the cycle 2 work scheme?
I know the voucher system maximum value has been raised so people can afford e-bikes, but doing some reading and it seems to be a voluntary thing for each individual company.

Also has anyone brought any bikes with the cycle to work scheme during pandemic times?

Me, at my workplace the max is £2k, I topped up the rest. I just made my last contribution towards it this month. Bought 12 months ago.

If you can convince your employer to sign up for Green Commute Initiative its better for high value bikes.

  • My Bakfiets is finished. Its the main frame, steerer, stand and steering rod left from when I bought it. The 26x2,4 Schwalbe Supermoto just fits, and is way nicer than the 48mm Marathon. Need fat tire in the front too.
Will restore the wooden box, but quite like the orange one.

    Keep @Mickie_Cricket updated

  • Double post?
Will take a few pictures of the rotten wood and reassembly.
Would make a new one, but reuse not buy is strong with me right now.

Installed the rear brake with one of those, it works but pad placement isn't perfect:

  • Also have a spare 20" drum brake fork, matching front wheel, used 4 speed nexus drum brake back wheel I had bought for this (both with marathons) the mudguards and the original stem/handlebar lying around here in Berlin.

If someone has a budget cargo build going and can use some of it, let me know.

  • Yeah I need a box for mine but I’m also useless so will need to rip off ideas.

  • Vandelay

As in Vandelay Industries? The Vandelay Industries?

  • Just heard of a company called Bogbi, apparently they've been selling bikes in Scandinavia and Colombia.

The bikes look really good. Anyone here knows anything about the brand?

edit: Their own website doesn't seem to list the bike's specs except for a few general details, kind of a turn-off...

  • Damn! I had a fork issue as well.

No issues with rear dropouts and the fork axle lines up fine. But when I first put in the front wheel that @broken_777 built for me it was off centre like it was dished wrong (which it wasn’t) tried couple different front wheel and same issue. Both were off centre. Concluded that It’s defo fork measurement issue (which is apparently a thing with thru axles in modern forks) No problems riding it though, in any case Martin helpfully re-dished the wheel to account for it.

  • That looks good. Can’t see any stockists over in the uk though.

  • I quite like the look of those. The canopy attachments look really good too.

  • I was really tempted when they were doing their kickstarter thingy - they were doing some pretty good deals back then. I love the design of it. Bottled it in the end

  • I bought a cargo bike at the end of August on my work scheme for the school and nursery run (as well as the commute) and general not needing to use the car hauling. Had to get work to update the HR policy to allow for the increased values but once that was done was an easy process, all the details were dealt with by the Cyclescheme, work just had to process the approval and pay the invoice. Think I might be lucky with a fairly positive company when it comes to encouraging staff to cycle though.

  • Found this when I was looking for ways to transport plywood from approx 3km away to home. I never considered using my Burley Travoy partially folded!

  • Today's abnormal load haulage.
It wasn't pretty, I had to rethink it twice on the way home and I did a little damage to the ply, luckily the sheets aren't for cabinets or nice furniture.
The one thing I don't like about the Travoy design is how the wheels stand proud of the platform, makes wider loads a pain to organize.
