Continental are prone to catastrophic sidewall failures. You’ve got lucky if you haven’t had this happen before.
People should listen to @hippy more.

Possibly couldve got 2 worms in there, but the tyre unseated so ended up just putting a tube in to get home before work. obvs this mess then happened...
Is this a warranty job or just an unlucky coincidence? I've had plenty of conti tyres over the years and none have failed this quickly.
