There are quite a few vw transporter ones, from a quick search just now.

Point was more.. £50k for a van!
Saying that, it appears that VW Californias barely depreciate. Long thread on pistonheads atmo.

A California with a few options is a seventy two thousand pound vehicle.

Seventy two thousand pounds! Seventy two thousand fucking pounds! Fuck me

And it doesn't come with cheap coke or spunk for that, you have to bring your own.

That would be mine then, just found this thread because someone said they stumbled across photos of my car. Thanks for the kind words - I'm glad you caught it when it looked like it'd been washed, its usually filthy haha.
It's a bit lower now and without the front fogs as I didn't like them.

No way! Is the MX 5 yours too (I think it’s an MX5, green, number on the side)?
Mate lives on the same street too (although not of automotive interest).

Small world in the car thread!

Picked up a car for the Cupcakes household. 2007 Honda Civic with 132k miles. Not expensive and passed its MOT last week with no advisories.
Am I mad to consider taking it to a local trusted garage for a once-over? Even though it's got MOT I'd like to be aware of anything I can do in the way of preventative maintenance. Also, I think it needs new drop links to sort a bit of a clunk from the front. That would be something the garage could do whilst inspecting, if they agreed it was needed.
If getting it looked over is worthwhile, is an independent garage likely to be fine or is there any benefit at all to going to a specialist Honda garage or dealer? (I'm guessing no).

Yeah the MX5 is ours too but it's looking a bit tatty these days haha.
Small world, weirdly I actually used to have an account on here years ago when I lived in London and rode a fixie.

Thats a beut, love ST185's. I also hate locking wheel nuts!
-
• #57717
Most people on here used to ride fixies, some still own them.

Also cheers for the faded plastics advice @Fox @NurseHolliday @paininthe and any others I missed!

Is the MX5 a daily? Always thought it looked pretty rude/fun.

Really enjoyed that, lovely to see some NZ roads. Such a beautiful countryside to be speeding about in. Noise is great too.

No. An independent Honda specialist might be more handy.
I took my beetle to an independent VW/Audi place post purchase. They gave it a thorough going over and highlighted a few minor things - really useful for piece of mind.

In my youth no way, but those days are long past. Now that the hair on my head is a distant memory and I’m in less of a rush to get anywhere, I’d love one.

also saw a 70 plate taycan in guildford the other day. so cool. quite large compared to a 911 but thought it looked (and oddly sounded) great in the flesh

One more winter may well have killed it.
Ah, but that's not in the Goldilocks zone either - too big.
