Ah, gotcha. Unfortunately I'm on the 9-5, Monday through Friday job... think my next free weekday is in December. :(
Will watch the bookings at BPW, and drop you a line if I see full day slots come back online.

n00b mtb question; how do I make sure the forks stay in good condition? clean after every ride, dab and wipe off. the 3wt oil (for my fork)? What else?

Just follow the service intervals or at least don’t go too far beyond them.
Keep you shock pump clean and don’t dick around with the air pressure too much.
There are other things you can do like keeping them upside down, oiling the stantions then cycling the fork a few times to get the gunk out of the seals but forks. Bit of a ballache tho. Nothing beats a service and rebuild every 80hrs or so.

Can get the uppers done reasonably locally I'd have thought. Get Mario to do them, doesn't he work at Seabass now?

Seabass
amazing if so, easy and then I get a pizza on the way back.

Don't you have a fully equipped ( and unpainted ) bike workshop to do it yourself?
-
• #17611
yeah but I am lazy
-

It's also messy and you end up collecting oil that you need to dispose of properly.
I'm sure some cunts just throw it down the drain though.

I go directly to the nearest river and force feed it to the fish

I’m 81kg, I don’t know what my gear weighs but let’s say 90kg all up, how many shock tokens would people put in a 150mm Lyrik for riding in the Alps?

I'm going to put three in and YOLO
-
• #17620
Although that pre-supposes that I have one in there already.

Had one in my new Pike, added 1 more.
Think you're safe with 3 -

I'm off to the Alps on Saturday, Covid permitting, as some may know. I was going to put the bikes on the roof, but looking at the specifications the Thule says that the maximum wheelbase permitted is 112 cm, and the new bike that I'm picking up tomorrow has a wheelbase of 127cm.
That's quite a bit over the limit - so I wanted to ask if anyone else had successfully put a bike of similar length on said rack?
-
• #17623
What's the wheelbase if you turn the fork backwards?
-
• #17624
I don't know, but that's potentially genius.

Follow up question - what to wrap the stanchions with to prevent 1,000 miles of 130kph flying insect impact?
I got a lot from it, worth getting a few of you together for it though I reckon- you’d probably get more out of it than being solo
