Anyone got a 20' front fork with disc brake mounts?
-
• #5029
Maybe worth checking out mini velo forks, sure some of them come with discs. You could also buy the omnium / bullit / UA fork as a separate component.

Omnium fork bit too expensive for me.

Cheap bmx fork and enlist the services of one of the forums torch bearers?
-
• #5032
I don't know about these forum torch bearers, dear Susan once fucked up my customer bike's disc brake mount.

There's these options, but i'm guessing to pricey still? https://www.tartybikes.co.uk/20_inch_forks/c13.html

You're going to struggle getting anything "cheap"
Check trial bikes forks as there will be something in the right size, like those:

I'd be happy to help if you go that way

I still need to weld the steering mount. I'll have to think about the options. Thanks for all your help.

Im sure this has been asked before, but has anyone ridden both the Omnium Cargo and Mini Max who can comment on the handling/livability of both?
I'm hopefully going to order a frameset of one or the other in a few weeks (cyclescheme dependent) and i really can't make up my mind. Theres no way of trying one out here in Bristol either.
The one thing that makes me lean towards the bigger bike is the ability to add a yepp childseat to the front (little one due any day), but ive seen some people out there have managed to fit seats to the mini max too, as pictured below.
Any help or advice would be welcome.
Cheers

Minimax rides better than full size with no/small load.
If you're not planning to carry over 70kg daily I'd get the minimax for easier storage. Can always get the rack extender if you think you'll occasionally need more space. -

@t0-ster works at Omnium and carries his kid on his mini-max

Yeah I've been chatting to him. He's been really helpful.
I'm not sure my very anxious wife would let me get away with the tubes technique

I am extremely happy with Bullitt with canopy for baby carrying. It feels safer and less exposed compared to. the omnium setup. She has been in it since she was 3 months old, now 10.5 months old. Absolutely loves it. Still in car seat, will need to get the seat with harness soon.

Amey,
Not sure what your asking here?
They don't look like the fit eachother.
I'm fairly sure the square red and black connectors are the main point of connection from the battery to the controller
-

ah! sorry. I think they may have sent mismatch battery connection i.e the cables that go from battery holder to the motor (on the left/bottom) dont seem to work with the square-ish cables that come out of the motor/controller. What does yours look like?

Does anyone have any recommendations on a decent 20 inch (451 size) front tyre for a Omnium?
There doesn't seem like there is much choice out there, I don't need anything super wide but a bit wider than the Schwalbe Durano 28-451 that came with the bike would be good, the next normal size up seems to be a 37mm or 1.3/8 inch?

I use Tioga Powerblock OS20...biggest 451 I can find at 1.85", but only just squeezes under the crown height wise. They also do it in a 1.6" too though, and folding or steel bead I think. I run mine tubeless though, so I don't know how puncture resistant they'll be with a regular tube.
Bought some cargo specific rims from kinlin. Ryde Andra 40 on the right for scale... wide boiz, maybe too much!
