do not lower it much, if at all.
I would not want the radius of curvature of the fender to be off center from the wheel.
my 2 cents

Agree, and Irish lanes, bump bump

Looks mental, just needs to come down a little bit I think, more so on the front.

On auction completion the winning bidders credit card is charged 10% which goes direct to collecting cars. You are then put in contact with the seller to organise payment/collection of the lot. Collecting cars involvement ends after they have put you in contact with the seller. There is no set process if the car is not as advertised - collecting cars told me this is dealt with on a case by case basis but I have a feeling you'd have a tricky job getting your 10% back.

Saw this, its on ebay as well. Looks like it might be decent mechanically (although that is A LOT of miles) but cosmetically needs a lot of work. I'd certainly want to get it resprayed.

The paintwork is straight
A bit of sugar helping the medicine go down, cool car though.

Can anyone recommend a place that can pull my sub-frame out, blast it, weld up anything that needs it and then powder coat it, re-bush it and shove it back in?
Mercedes no longer make these rear sub-frames, and the lady in Mercedes Bromley basically said "yeah, sorry LOL".

Do like those estates, better that the E30 touring due to the flat floor entrance. Great to power slide as the car is long enough to be gentle and easy to control. The drive train all clunk unless all the bushes are replaced. Loved my 2.5 wonder how different the V8 is in the 5 over the 7.

Someone clipped one of our rear doors while my daughter was getting into the car. It's looking like the repair cost would be ~£900, and the car's market value is £1500 at a push. The 3rd parties insurers is sorting the repair, so is it them who decides whether it's worthwhile to repair or not? If not worthwhile, what happens? Just want my shitty dented car back. This Renault scenic courtesy car is depressing.

Car becomes cat N, you buy it back from insurance for a per cent of the value. Find a breaker with a door the same colour and swap them over.

Thought as much, cheers!

you'd have hoped that there would some embarrassment in his voice when he recommended subframe replacement, when its clearly a complete failure of the original surface treatment.

My ex-flatmate had one, fuck knows how he afforded it, but he sold it within the year because it kept breaking.

I have to say it’s not great from Mercedes- I can buy everything I need for the 996 and it’s much older.
-
• #56096
I thought Mercedes kept parts available for much longer than any other manufacturers... Must be for classic Mercs. Very annoying. I'm sure you could get a subframe from a dry country.... Shipping would be the killer
-
• #56097
There’s one on US eBay- $175 for the subframe, $1,200 to ship it.

If you get yours refurbed or another one blasted, you should get it hot zinc coated before painting it. Retro power do it, should help with corrosion resistance
