Has anyone replaced the dead cell in a non functional internal di2 battery? If anyone has a dead one I can try it with please let me know, I'm bored.

Anyone had their Di2 lose battery really quickly? Have felt I've had to charge way more than usual this year and really noticed it this weekend when I had at least 90% starting on Saturday and by Monday I was down to 25%. Common issue?

Can that be done by the E-tube app?

if you have the bluetooth thingy yeah otherwise USB cable and a windows computer

When it happened to me it boiled down to a faulty cable. Somehow shifting still worked, but the battery drained very quickly (either because the faulty cable prevented the charge or just by itself? No idea)
I replaced that one cable and everything was fine ever after.
It was the cable going from stem junction box to frame junction box and I think what did it was the bar bag constantly bending it and rubbing on it.

O shit, went to update the firmware on the app and now it's all gone completely dead. No lights when pressing the button on the junction or anything....

thats strange, did the cable get disconnected and/or the application crashed?

if it leaks out the little pressure venting holes out the sides of the shifter body then its dead - seal has blown. Tends to happen when people force pressure into the system - it happens.. . The R series have a small design flaw - i say that when really its user error but if you use a syringe kit with a deep nozzle/fitting then its possible to put a hole in the compensation seal as it overlaps the fill port and gets pinched inside the body. Shimano dont sell the seals and instead replace the whole shifter - which currently is a rather long wait to have done via Madison. Just use the plastic funnel as per instructions in all cases.

Do you have the SC-MT800? That happens when you try to update the firmware over Bluetooth and you're using the wrong version of the app / iOS / Android. It's super flakey. Mine was bricked until the bike shop plugged it into a PC.

Yeah odd, looks like there was some kind of error on the app. Seems to be working again now but actually all the firmware was all up to date anyway. I suspect maybe the battery is just fucked?

No, don't have that actually. Yeah weird, something is up. May take it LBS and see if they can plug it in.

I had a similar issue and it turned out the battery was swimming in a pool of rainwater near my BB... Fixed that and it suddenly all started working perfectly again.
Sure you won't have exactly the same issue but I'd def check all the physical connections etc

SC-MT800 screen also goes off when connected over bluetooth. I panicked at that... disconnect and voila back on!

Yeah who's this seller and do they have anything else for sale?!
Thanks all. Had the smell of bullshit about it but always good to get more opinions.
