I watched french wheeler dealers the other night on RMC which you can watch on the website and it shows replacing the silent blocks and suspension on the front to sort out vague steering.

@Nahguavkire lots of little tasks to do, sorting the sunroof, getting the tracking aligned, finding a complete key set for the doors, headlining needs fitted, the list goes on and on.

It's just had a pretty hefty restoration and windows out respray, just needs the finishing touches.

Maybe some BBS RMs down the line.

I guess it could be, but I'd assumed the single cabs were the same length as the 110 but with more cargo area.

Not looking to buy, just procrastinating and went on a mammoth LR internet loop starting with discos vs defenders VFM > disco pickups > Defender pickups, then noticed that single cab Defenders seemed to be relatively cheap given the insane prices knackered ones usually go for.

got fucked around by some time waster saffa cunt in the end and that was a month ago. so no. might come in handy when the covidocalypse kicks off again.

My money is on the Honda Jazz being the covidocalypse car of choice.

If you're interested got new rad etc back on. Ended up cutting back some rust and repainting etc so took a bit longer than expected. Fitted new thermostat as well just in case. Temp from blowers is now much warmer, coolant returning from rad to expansion tank. Still overheating unfortunately but stops just under the 3/4 mark and returns to middle much quicker. Fan still not kicking in though which is a bugger. Got to test fan switch next. Mechanic replaced it but chance that's why fan not running.

Thought the small bumper had the 7 slats, from the RMC Decouverte chanel wheeler dealer France (believe it is available on the website to watch) they did one up and it was fun to watch. You see them pressing out the silent blocks. The red trimmed 7 slat GTI grills are really rare to find NOS or in new condition.

300km?! Hope mine sees that many miles! Yeah getting there but it's taking awhile and hoping to use it for our holiday in a week! Also changed the offside front wishbone today, and doing handbrake cables and rear nearside bumpstop tomorrow... As well as alternator next week. Might as well get it all sorted! If I could work out this bloody fan I'd be happy.

It's actually become the crucial part of the project, a rebuild on a Gt3/turbo box is around 15k, plus the box - so around 20-22k. That's too much, the best option would be to rebuild the M96 gearbox, but (of course) no one does that with new ratios, so we'd need to source gearsets from Albins and then find someone in the UK who would split the case and rebuild the box (which of course Getrag says is not rebuildable).

A sequential with helical gears that can be changed easily for different ratios would be ideal, for around 8k, plus I'd like my hair to grow back and a puppy that plays football.
