110 is loads in a 28c.

80psi is more than enough.

If you want gumwalls, a durable-ish road tyre and intend to run them at high pressures perhaps you'd be better with Paselas and tubes.

Hyper voyagers ,?

I did wonder when I saw you putting those on. Do they need to be gumwall? Cos if not GP5000s are the obvious choice. Just potential trying to get them on hell.

My Veloflex Corsa EVO TLR's are working great now. One of them just needed a tiny bit more sealant then riding as everyone said.
That's actually why I came to this thread just now, to say I did a century on them today and I think they're super. They definitely have all of the wonderful suppleness of a 350tpi Italian tyre over shitty road surfaces, they seem fast and the tread feels very grippy and gummy.
I ran them at 80psi today (I've got 25mms), which is arguably too much for a 62kg weakling like me, but I never felt they were too hard.
I've not really pushed them that hard in corners generally so far, and I've only done about 250 miles on them so I can't say anything about puncture protection or durability yet, but all seems very promising.

Good to hear, Pete. I’m gonna order some when my Corsa’s are ready for the bin.

Quite interested in your experience of those. I could be tempted.
I’ve been happy with Veloflex Masters with latex tubes on wide rims. They are summer/dry/event tyres though.
Ironically the only major downside is replacing a tube. Negotiating the tight af bead and tubeless-ready rims is difficult at home and a nightmare by the side of the road :)

62kg
Fuck you

@fox Gumwall, as always is just a vanity choice.
I think there's only the Grand Prix 5000 TL in 700 x 28mm.
I would try to squeeze a WTB Exposure TCS Tan Wall 700x30c Folding Tyre
Or try the Challenge Paris-Roubaix Pro TLR 27-622 which are gumwall and 27mm wide (they look great)
Or just another Schwalbe One TLE Addix 28" Classic gumwall in 700x28c (Just not the TT version)...

It's not a competition! Also you can still be 62kg and have belly fat issues :(
It's lucky I'm not any heavier though or my extremely unimpressive power output would really do for me.

• #3888
Having a vintage Italian bike I saw it more as an obligation :)
I'm a big fan of Challenge tyres. Not had any of their tubeless ones, mostly because my order for some Strada Pro HTLR's didn't end up happening, but in my experience they are great. Just pricey.

Jesus 70 quid per tyre ! I thought teravail where expensive.

Recommended PSI starting point for 25c tyres is your weight in kg + 5. I will do the math for you; 67 PSI is more than enough.
For 28c recommended PSI should be your weight in kilos.
-
• #3891
Do people really go to 100PSI still? See my comment above...
-
• #3892
I'm running my weight in kilos -20 in my nominal 28s
-
• #3893
I'm not saying that's wrong. But for people who don't know what PSI to use the above rule is a good starting point. You can then move up or down and find your sweet spot as you appear to have done.
-
• #3894
I know but they are so comfortable there's literally no down side to 80psi and I get lower rolling resistance, right?
I ran 60psi in my gp4000s non-tubeless 25c's I was running before. Above that they were too harsh and I never had any pinch flats or other issues.
-
• #3895
If it works for you alles es gut.
I won't open the particular can of worms that argues lower PSI is actually faster...

Do people really go to 100PSI still? See my comment above...
As a bit of a fat fucker on 23s with inner tubes on narrow rims, yes. Only just though.
-
• #3897
Ha! Perhaps tubeless isn't for you then.
-
• #3898
Well, I've currently got 9 road bikes running tubeless some or all of the time (some have multiple sets of wheels for different terrains) and they seem to be working pretty well so far.

People that are 95kg do ;-)

I went for the safe option and ordered 700x28 Continental GP5000 TL.
There are about £40 each.
Still need to decide on PSI!
They do roll really well but with a puncture average of 75km, they'll just suit racing.
I purchased those at the time (October 2019) as there were no alternative gumwall options in tubeless 700c x 28mm.
I like the overall tubeless system, I will just concentrate on getting tyres that are less prone to punctures as weight is not an massive issue for me.
@Brommers I will check those Fusion 5 Seasons
@JB They do the non TT version in gumwall, I'll look on the Schwalbe website to see what difference there is in the cross section.
With regards to tyre pressure, I notice that the recommended PSI range is not shown on the tyres or on the Schwalbe website.
How does one guesses the required PSI??
(I know @gbj_tester says to use you favourite pressure but I've not been able to put 100PSI in them - I would personally ride around 110PSI in standard tyres)
