You could get a Milanese strap but I think it looks great on the black croc.

New watch day.
Switched out the rubber strap for an orange NATO I had kicking about, for full summer vibes
(Edit: my hairy arms always make it look like watchs are really tight when they aren't)

Thanks
I haven't timed it properly yet, but it seems to at least within a few minutes since last weekend, maybe even better. -

When I started learning to repair watches I used to bulk buy barely/not working vintage watches to try to repair them.
Believe me, I have ruined a lot of dials trying to do what you would like to do :D
Even a simple wipe with a cotton bud often leaves damage

The heat today is making this a bit tight.

Been wearing this a lot and the strap is getting a tiny bit whiffy. Recommendations for a more suitable alternative? I've seen lots of customisation going on but not sure if this model is compatible?

@Stonehedge - that Helson looks so on point. Like they said "what do we want a proper classic diver to look like"?
Walk in the woods this morning inspired me to go for a military vibe.

I think if you pull the crown out to the first notch you can quickly adjust the date.

I remember thinking that it was too small when I first bought it. I wanted a proper diving clock at the time. So glad I kept hold of it though. I really think they came up with a nice individual design without being too "subby".
Helson used to ship with proper Cuda straps back then. The quality has been good but not quite as good since they switched to something cheaper.

If only, that didn’t feature on the DJ until 1977. A quick google shows that was the revision from the 1570 movement to the 3035.

All these dress watches.
If I hold this at the right angle it doesn't even look fake! cough

Yeah this is a 1975 DJ, it should have the quick-date function (wind hours between 10-2 and back etc) but I don't bother as it's never been serviced and when my father gave it to me the crown was loose... Rolex elves fixed the crown issue for free when I sent it in for a service quote...

hi all
as it is Friday and I will be away over the weekend and Monday posting my 1016 again in honour of it's 58th anniversary of certification on 29/06/1962. Unfortunately picked up a new scratch on the plexiglass a few weeks ago but I would rather enjoy wearing it and take this risk than keep it in a box pristine and only wear it occasionally!
