All those things, plus the 40kg Zwift racing weight
-
• #4053
non aero positions, lack of bike handling and lack of any kick
Described me on a bike perfectly ðŸ˜
-
• #4054
More aero on the road bike, but completely lost the ability to corner at any kind of speed.
Or having to take a water bottle out the cage while riding. -
• #4056
That's the plan! or some new ones.
-
• #4057
Want some help? Can offer to tow to bottom of hill and then die half way up.
You'll enjoy it. I'll be violently sick.
It'll be like old times. -
• #4058
Haha, yeah man, let's go for a ride. I've never been up a hill with you!
-

I know at least two people who seem to think they're pushing 6w/kg FTP's, and have achieved that through 20mins a week of indoor riding...
-
• #4060
Better call Dave.
-
• #4061
Numbers really aren't everything but there are a few people I know that are apparently now over 5w/kg for 20mins. The same people who'd get spat early on chaingangs / struggle to get out of 4th/3rd cat.

Can you tell that I'm bitter about getting my arse handed to me by these people on online racing?
-
• #4064
Star Hill can do one. I avoid it even when I’m happy pedalling up things.
-
• #4065
Lol at lack of truth in this statement
-
• #4066
Surely lesser of the evils...?
-
• #4067
Don your cloak of A-road immunity and storm up Polhill like the pragmatic wuss you are.
-
• #4068
Plus everyone knows that polehill >a21 is the only way to get your average speed up on strava (stop garmin just after beckenham hill)
-
• #4069
Not when they’re riding with you.
-
• #4070
Very true.
-
• #4071
I just acquired a rocker plate, my handling skills are going to go through the roof by the time this is over.
-
• #4072
Which one did you go for?
-
• #4073
Exactly, you can ride gently up there unlike the nastier ones to the west.
-
• #4074
Turborock, courtesy of Henry when I acquired his kickr. I was expecting to find it a waste of space but having tried it a couple times I can confirm it is significantly more comfortable than static.
Standing feels strange though, I suspect it swings the opposite way to how it does out in the desert of the real.

Depends how further west you’re prepared to go, Clark’s Lane is the easiest way up the entire ridge I think.
I think an awful lot of people will get upset when their online performances aren't reflected in real life. Poorly calibrated turbos, non aero positions, lack of bike handling and lack of any kick will see to that.
