Not me...I steer clear of the bikepacking business. For London based I would steer people towards Wizard Works... Forum OG Harry.

• #5832
Sorry! Wizard Works looks ace, esp.the Shazam!

Is anyone using an 11-40 or similar 11 speed mtb cassette on an 11 speed road freehub. I'm having problems with mine, I've tried a 1.85mm spacer and a 1mm spacer and there is still play in the cassette when I tighten the locking. I've also tried two 1.85 spacers and I can't get the last cog on without it spinning. Can anyone advice what spacers they are using?
Thanks

Alpkit have a sale on their bike bags at the moment. . The machinists are back in.
-
• #5837
Yeah. You only need one spacer. Something is piss on your setup. You sure it's actually an 11spd freehub body? Did you leave a cog out or something? Show us some pics.
-
• #5838
You just need a 1mm spacer if you defo have mtb11 cassette and road11 freehub. Otherwise some thing else is funky...

I've ordered one 5 weeks ago, haven't received it yet. How do you rate it?
-
• #5840
It's good but you need very wide bars

Forum recommended warm down jacket for sitting around in outside? Think there’s gonna be a lot of that going on for the next year or two...

I think Montbell represents good value.

I’ve posted about this before a few times, in short version:
Budget: Décathlon
Mid-level: 2nd hand Montane, Rab (but not from last two years), or other 800+ fill models
Top: New or 2nd hand PHD or Montbell (montbell can have weird sizing, measure carefully)
Holy grail: Nunatak -

Montbell have Japanese and US/euro models in their range, hence the differing sizing, the Japanese stuff you need to size up in...
Pretty sure if you look up the style on their website it states which sizing they are based on.
-
• #5845
Yep, aware of this. The Japanese ones normally have extra pockets - no idea why! - so are a nicer buy imo
The sizing disparity I mean is between different Euro garments, and different years, for the same listed size. One of my euro thermawraps is much tighter fit than the others, like half a size smaller. Hence it’s good to get basic measurements from eBay seller. -

Got the Dechatlon/forclaz trek 100.. cheap, varm and well made..

I had to take pictures of my garments next to a measuring tape to prove to the US Montbell rep that there were differences, and both were labeled as US sized. I still recommend them though.

Not sure this is the right tread, but I bet that one of you guys can give me the skinny.
I use Ride with GPS to plot routes and then use a single Bluetooth earphone for it to give me voice turn by turn directions. Which I like a lot.
But, every now and again, I take a wrong turn and need to stop, get the phone out of my jersey pocket, check the map and figure out where I am.
Long question short, what's the best thing for mounting a phone onto my stem, that I can move between different bikes (different stems) easily?
I am half expecting the answer to be: Buy a Wahoo / Garmin / whatever. I'd rather not.
