Hey Giles...this is from the tees and hoodies thread...
I have the website in waiting, but I'm not making it public until the 'proper' new products are ready... Which is not a quick process. At the moment my machining guy is waiting for a new mill to arrive so the pieces for the backpack are on hold until he's ready. I'm trying to do what I still can in the meantime, but it's not easy trying to pay for things here and there due to barely having any disposable income, and running out of things to sell. When things are finally ready, I'll let it be known. Thanks all for the support" -

I don't suppose anyone on here has a small van or large estate car and could possibly collect an industrial sewing machine (split into two parts) from Winchester and deliver it to Hackney for not too much money? xxx

If only his services stretched that far. :)

Are you gonna start making stuff again soon??? 🤓🤓🤓

I refer you to the first post in this thread, and the first post in every one of my threads selling tees, hoodies, mugs, bottles etc

When people said they weren't comfortable donating to the gofundme and started asking for tees and hoodies, I made tees and hoodies... You yourself asked me to start a bottle list again, so I've started a bottle list again... I put a lot of money into titanium mugs/pots too.... All of these things are to try and keep money coming in to fund the work needed to create the prototypes for the new range which will allow me to get back to 'making stuff again soon'... But as I keep saying, until I'm in a position to I'm doing everything I can to keep money coming in to fund the development.

How big is this thing?

The guy I'm getting it from said that he collected it in an estate car. He's going to take the head of the machine out, so it'll be separate from the base. I'll try and get measurements today.

OK. Let me know. I don't know if I can help or not, but it's be good to know if it is at all possible with my car.
Do you have a driving license?
-
• #412
I don't unfortunately. I'll sort the measurements out ASAP. X

Ok I spoke to the guy and the sizes are as follows for the table. The head of the machine has been taken off and should fit within the table space. He says a car with folding back seats should be fine.
Length. 1100mm
Height. 800mm
Depth. 600mm
So laying it down it will need floor space of just over a metre by just under a metre, and clearance to the roof of 60cm
Let me know if this sounds doable? -

That will fit in my car, but I'll have to do all the driving.
Herne Hill to Winchester to Hackney to Herne Hill is basically a full day.
Can "not much money" translate into "a free / heavily discounted product once I'm up and running"?

By 'not much money' I was just meaning less than the £170-£180 that men with vens are quoting. I wasn't meaning I wouldn't pay you anything.

"life's a stitch, and then you die"...
With the new year will come a new batch of hoodies and tees!
With this in mind I commissioned the incredibly talented @spencermann to create a portrait of me which I feel best represents exactly how I feel after spending this last year working really hard to get Black Rainbow Project up and running again. As you can see from the finished piece, he nailed it! 👌
it's been a tough year!

Just to put what I'm trying to do into perspective...I had 53 pence to my name on Friday.
What can I say... I'm really trying. -

Ok dude

I'll get there. I managed to buy the last of the sewing machines I needed, to allow me to speed up the manufacturing process once the new designs are ready. It's the prototyping of those designs that is costing so much and taking so long.
My machining guy just got his new mill this weekend at last, so as soon as I can raise more money I'll be right back onto the next part of the design. It's an unbelievably slow process though when I'm struggling so much financially... But I'm not giving up. I'll get there. -

I assume this is an attempt to have a dig at me?
Not that I need to respond to your post, as you know nothing about me or what is happening in my private life, but after discussing the situation with my partner, this bike was bought as an investment to allow me to get a second job in the evenings, on top of my full time day job. This second job was supposed to pay the loan for this bike in 3 months and then allow me to continue funding the work on Black Rainbow Project through working both jobs. It also replaced my track bike which I then sold, around the same time that I sold studio equipment that took me years to get and basically anything I could sell without affecting the things I do.
I was working 12 hour days 5 days a week on this bike, right until the corona virus meant I lost my full time job. I now ride it 5 days a week doing my second job, as well as occasional work for a friend of a colleague...which is about the only thing keeping me sane right now while I continue to sell more of my studio equipment and bike parts to cover the rent.
This bike was an investment which was putting me on track to solving my financial troubles and keep funding BRP without relying on the generosity of others. I haven't posted on this thread in 5 months or asked anyone for financial help.
I was hoping I could post something that makes me happy for a change without some prick pouncing on me to drag me back down again...seems I was wrong. -

@Black_Rainbow_Project
Scott how are things going? Can see the go fund me status - has popularity of tees/hoodies on the forum helped make a dent?
