I use quad locks on all my stuff, I think they are great and solid.

I use this as well, dirt cheap and works a treat.

Thanks all. @hippy with that one you shared, is it not a pain to take on and off if you want to take a photo or call? I was inclined to go for one with a quick release system (like quad lock) that means the mount stays on the bars and the phone comes off with a clip in section... (if that makes sense!)

Yeah they defo seem the best go to just not sure about spending £50...

It doesn't take much to flick the straps off the edges of the phone. Maybe a couple of seconds slower than a quadlock. I've used both for big races but typically I can't use the quadlock properly anyway as the phone is between the aerobars so it won't twist and I'd just rip it out of its case. So it depends a bit on your desired usage.

There's also male Garmin mounts (the two prong bit) that you can stick to the back of any phone case that allow you to use any existing Garmin mount.

Quadlocks do have a tendency to break phone cameras though. Something about the road vibration

I held off on getting a quad lock... Right until I realised they sold black bits to replace the ugly bright blue bits. 😜
Now I use it daily on my work bike. Totally solid, and easy to remove the phone when I go in somewhere.
Expensive, but hopefully it will last long enough to justify it. -

You know what I think it might have done something to mine, although I can't be sure since I drop my phone at least 13 times a day.

Whats the current thought on the best mount for a phone?
Also, do we have a thread about the best current phone?
(they may be linked)

@ChainBreaker I have one of those cheap rubber/silicone mounts on my motorbike as I didn't want the quadlock spend till I had done some more research on the exact bits I need.
The rubber/silicone thing is fine on my Samsun S8 on the motorbike, It's a slight pain to get on and off compared the quad lock which I have on the commute push bike. -

@ChainBreaker, I bought this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RXWHR8Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I used it every day for months on my m/bike till lockdown, maybe I should inspect the securing strap. The quadlock is really good, it just works and feels really solid.

Which style quadlock mount do people recommend?

I've been through a couple of AliExpress Garmin phone mounts but the fixture has broken for both with it leading to the cracking of a mobile phone screen once. I was riding across rough surfaces which probably didn't help.
Have subsequently splurged on a Quad Lock Out Front Pro which I definitely like

I use velcro to mount my phone between my aerobars. Works well. Only issue is new phone is slightly narrower, so have to put rolls of inner tube on aerobars to stop the bottom end of the phone slipping between them.

My niece got a bike yesterday. Is the quadlock still the bracket of choice? Does it mean she then has to have a quadlock case?
Quad Lock is top of the list but it's so pricey. I wonder what everyone else uses and if there are cheaper alternatives that are as solid and well designed when it comes clipping the phone on and off?
