Hi all, had this and 3 other bikes swiped from my garden on Wednesday night in Walthamstow. 3 dudes (caught on CCTV).
It’s a 60cm Genesis Flyer frame, BLB wheels, Sugino crankset, Thompson seatpost, Concor Saddle.
Other bikes were:
A black Planet X Pro Carbon Ultegra group set, spd Clips, Extra Large.
A silver Santana Duke SS with red pedals for the Mrs and
A sprayed black Scott MTB with Rock shox.Insurance aren’t paying a penny and I’m gutted because it’s about £2k worth of stolen gear.

Yes and yes.

That’s crap, sorry to hear it.

Why is your insurance not paying?
-
• #15133
They weren't locked to anything.
-
• #15134
Were they locked at all?
-
• #15135
No, only my garden was locked, they were loose inside
-

Nightmare. Insurance companies, typically, will look for any reason not to pay out.

Sorry to hear about the thefts from gardens. It's always worth reminding everyone that the majority of bike thefts happen from homes--hallways, sheds, communal cycle parking, gardens. People tend to feel safe when they're at home and tend to worry much more when they leave their bike locked somewhere in the public realm.
Hope you get some kind of lead towards getting them back.

Thanks Oliver
Good to know.
I’m hoping that the fact that these frames are pretty rare and distinctive might help it find it’s way back to me. -

It's vanishingly unlikely that it'll 'find its way back' to you, unfortunately. If you want it back, you need to be extremely proactive and tireless. It's a sad state of affairs, but that's what it is.
You will most likely not get any help from the police and it'll be a huge effort to find it for sale anywhere. Keep checking on-line marketplaces; most real-world markets are suspended, so it might well go on-line. It might be some time before it goes on-line. It might be shipped to another town or another country. Of course, the opposite, that you'll see it being ridden around by a local kid, is also possible, but be aware of the possibilities. The info in this thread is probably a little out-of-date (everybody, please send me corrections if you see the need for them, or additional info), but much of it still applies:

Good luck.
