Well, it's just such a shame that ISEN bikes aren't distinctive in the slightest, so it'll undoubtedly just blend into the crowd. Not.

• #15153
That's good to hear!

• #15154
Comments said that this was the only one like this

Yes, well, it was a little joke prompted by seeing the picture. :)

• #15156
This is why you shouldn’t have more money than sense.

• #15157
Dumb insensitive stupid pathetic comment there........

• #15158
Apparently this matey has been fixing loads of bikes for key workers for free, bike gets pinched first time out and it's his birthday today as well. The universe really isn't messing around in 2020.

This is the interwebz, prolly get a real user name before calling peeps out... #justsayin ;)

This is going off topic.
A good man's pride and joy has been stolen.
We should contribute or show support.
Not give random negative assumptions, this is not productive. -
• #15161
Pride and joy you say, we all have one or more than one and we do not leave it on a car rack... Without knowing the specifics I'll make a wild guess that it wasn't secured with a lock?
-
• #15162
Why would you even guess?
I actually know this person and was riding with them before. I know how secure it was , it was locked.
-
• #15163
Why would you leave a bike on a roof rack?
-
• #15164
Soz. Assumed it was unlocked. I accept ‘more money than sense’ is unfair, however pissed I was last night.
Roofracks certainly do advertise a bike. And we all know the thieves love a flashy mountainbike.
Was it stolen with threats or unattended? What kind of lock was compromised?
Maybe as it’s such an unusual frame perhaps your friend’s pride and joy can be located. If it’s local scrotes it’ll probably get rattlecanned today.

• #15165
No worries, I appreciate your reply!
Happy riding -

so the bike was locked to the roofrack at HHV when it got nicked or on the street?
-
• #15167
Cheers mate. I really can be a twat sometimes. I think the shock of seeing such a shithot bike lost so quickly sort of triggered me! I mean no offence to your pal. Esp when they are probably in a dark place right now.
Tldr Skully’s a cnut.
-
• #15168
HHV is very closed at the moment.

• #15169
This is in the news now:
Hope Oli gets it back.
-
• #15170
How did you get it back and where was it for sale, please?
-
• #15171
Jeez the universe isn't fair is it. Sounds like a top guy. Fingers crossed it will find its way back.
-
• #15172
That story just got worse and worse. Fingers crossed media coverage will help it be returned.

That is extra shitty about the new mtb, news article says it replaces another bike stolen last year. Guy is not having a good time despite all the good kharma he's put out there.
Hopefully it finds its way back, with enough eyes out there it's possible.
Up in Central Scotland is quite popular to be followed home from glentress /inners/other popular mtb centres all the way home. They either swoop and cut bikes off roof /boot racks when you stop for post ride /drive home caffeine requirements or all the way home, note your address and flat position then return shortly after.
Had a mate who was followed down to his farm, became blatant that he was being followed by they were quite bold and wouldn't just give up. Went to a mates house in the next town and they just sat outside with car/bikes on roof for half an hour until the 4x4 went away.
Another had their mtb robbed from roof of car (upper end thule rack, using thule lock only), they'd visited family not far from me, parked outside tenement, rang bell, went into stairwell and into flat, 1st floor, went to window to look out and point at car "is it ok to leave it there"
Two guys with a van parked across their car ripping the roofrack off in one piece. Mate reckons it was around 45 to 75 seconds from turning back on car as they entered building to going oh shit, and then running downstairs.
Van gone, heavy traffic and no idea which way it went. They drove about foe a while and asked all the residents if they saw the reg or had house cctv.. Nothing.
My crappy old mtb goes with me in boot of volvo, Windows almost blacked out. Pita when its filthy. Obviously smaller cars and modern 8' long enduro monsters its not really possible. -

Oli sounds like a sweet guy, my apologies for the harsh assumptions.

Got this pretty cool response from the met today...
'An investigator from the Metropolitan Police has looked carefully at your case and we are sorry to say that, with the evidence and leads available, it is unlikely that it will be possible to identify those responsible. We have therefore closed this case.'
Fucking hell. Now that is brutal.
