Eredivisie and Belgian jupiler league are the same.
I can't see how the premier leagues project restart will have any legs now

Fingers crossed for project false hope

I'm sure most people will appreciate West Brom making the sacrifice if it means Leeds don't get promoted.
-

This is true.
Tbh, i really like the Championship - more exciting for us, less predictable and plenty of action. The issue will be long term affordability. What will happen with parachute payments if there's no promotion / relegation this year. We're reliant on that and getting back to the PL to maintain our squad etc.

I can still see the possibility of Leeds and Tescos being promoted with no relegation so the PL can make up the TV money with a few extra games, then relegate 4 for a couple of years. Roll that down the leagues so no-one loses out.

This is a beautiful tribute to Michael Robinson;

Since the days of Thatcher, the Tories have sought to rid the country of football crowds. The ludicrous prosecutions of alleged hooligans using undercover officers which almost all resulted in the rejection of the convictions as unsound on appeal and the government's outrageous attitude to Hillsborough and its perpetuation of lies that followed it were but two indications of this. Thatcher was herself more vocal on the subject. And so the Tory cheer leader in chief, Rupert Murdoch sought to take over a sanitised game and Sky was born. At last the Tories are within a whisker of achieving their goal with crowd free, television only football. They are even talking about adding crowd noise.
I would prefer no football to this.

Looks like it. Promotion decided on 'sporting merit', no relegation and no fans until 2021 at the earliest.

Yes. Even more so if it means no titles or relegation gets awarded.

I'm just hoping Derby's points deduction gets pushed back to next season.

Me too. Having something legit to moan about and overhaul as we ascend to the top of the league will be fantastic. I will understand what it means to be a Leeds fan at last.

Everyone hates you already though.

Our record in the playoffs is woefully, so I'd rather the season is finished now.
-
• #153042
Yeah.
I understand this already. -

I see Gordon Taylor is now suggesting games might be shorter than 90 minutes. Add in extra subs, neutral venues, no fans and different players - how exactly is that 'completing the season'. It would be a completely different game. It's gone now - give it up.

• #153046
lets just do a final table on average points per game, and leave it at that.

Why? The season can’t be finished. Null and void is the only fair conclusion.

If football can start again then the current season can be finished (even if it finishes later than August 2020). Yes it may mean that the next season is different (or doesn't even happen at all) but it's a specific choice to abandon the current season and start a new one, not a foregone conclusion.

Finishing the current league when possible would be my preference.

This!
RIP - far too young. Brilliant life he had.
