Nics are pretty good all-rounders. Not bad at everything. Not great at anything.

14 year old nephew wanted Contis. Won’t know the difference. Happy to make dreams come true.

That's my riding style!

Sorry hadn't realised dreams were involved. I don't think there's anything inherently dangerous about those unlike Gatorskins.

I've been running a Mountain King 2 on the rear for over 3 years now. Better than the Ardent it replaced on pretty much anything apart from dry hatdpack.

I’ve thought about that, but the caps are like £15 each then the tool, plus all the mess and after all that I might have well have just both bloody purple brakes.

Can anyone suggest me some good post-ride sus fork maintenance?
Having ridden mainly rigid singlespeeds for the last couple decades I'm used to riding my bike hard and putting it away dirty. And then brushing the mud off with a stiff broom once it's dried.
Now that I've built a bike with a Fox fork though I'm realising it needs a bit more care. So far I've been wiping the uppers and seals to get rid of dirt and giving the uppers a wee spray with WD40 or the like. This ok or is there something better I could be doing? Suspension specific lubes or anything?

I wouldn't use WD40. It will quite likely dry out/damage the rubber seals. WD40 say it's ok but who knows. And fox don't mention it, so no need.
Fox says mild soap and water.

There is specific stantion lube. Spray it on, cycle the fork a few times. It will pull some of the funk in the dust seals up that you can then wipe off.
If the fork was used you can / should pull the lowers off and refresh the oil bath and check the wipers.

Yeah, I've been meaning to pull it apart actually.
Worth getting Fox oil or just chuck some motorcycle stuff in there?
I'll look for stanchion lube, cheers.

Noted.

There are arguments around that. But also it serves no useful purpose for the situation. So no need to worry about if it does/doesn't. Just don't waste your time.

The Fox gold oil is surprisingly inexpensive.
Also, until I looked at in relative detail recently, I hadn't realised that one brand's 20wt oil can be very different to another. It's all about cst@40 degrees, whatever that is.

Has anyone a medium to large hardtail to sell?
Nothing fancy but lightweight and reliable. 27.5 or 29”
For getting my dad out in the fresh air
He’s 6ft but short legs and would probably prefer quite upright
Nobby Nic. Pretty safe in saying they’re forum approved. Definitely Badger approved.
Does anyone actually use Continental mountain bike tyres?
