I've mentioned it a few times on this thread but these are insanely accurate even for a quartz.
Well over eighteen months since I last set it and it's about 9 seconds slow.

On the note of accurate watches, a very LFGSS solution for increasing sync rates for RC watches:

TLDW; Put your watch on a metal bar (bike frame/handlebar) overnight to increase the rate of successful syncs.

Has anyone experience of those Timefactors/Smiths Everest watches.? The one based on the Rolex Explorer. I like the look of them and having lost/misplaced/not-seen-in-months my SKX007, I'm in the market for one or ther other.

I was thinking it didn’t make sense without the analogue hands, but now I see the track of dots counting the minutes.
If the watch could be programmed to count hours on that track you could time up to 12 hours. -

I've got one of the newer models and I adore it.
I had one of the older models too and it was lush.
I prefer the bracelet and clasp on the newer one as it is so comfortable and adjustable.

Does something light up around the edge ?

Thank you @Stonehedge. Coming from you on the subject of watches, I'll take that as a major plus.

Aw shucks.
If you can get to SE10, you're welcome to take a look at my one

Great watch if you can get along with the rotor spin/wobble. I couldn't. Also felt like the bracelet was a better quality than the head. I'd suggest trying one out if you can.
The one I had was really accurate too (+2/3spd), and I guess for the price it is an incredible piece. -

@Stonehedge what's your recommended inexpensive rubber dive strap?
Cheers.
(would need to be available in 20mm)

I have this - https://www.watchgecko.com/premium-italian-diver-watch-strap-by-zuludiver
£10 posted if you want. -

I really like the Timefactors polyurethane dive strap which costs £15. I've wasted my money on a fair few eBay dive straps which don't come close in terms of softness and comfort.

EDIT: Sorry, clicked submit before I was finished.
BUT If you can stretch to £50 or so, the CUDA is king of cheap dive straps IMHO.

Oh I forgot the Hirsch Pure. Still £50-ish but feels more like a £100 strap.

Cheers.
Just to be clear, CUDA vs Hirsch = ?

And last question/opinion on Smiths Everest - 40mm or the 36 mm?
-
• #42693
36mm for me.

Just tried this beasty on, IWC have a kind of extra pop up thing in WOS on Regent St, huge selection of pieces though.
Can you spot what’s lurking?

A slightly misaligned day/date? (-:
-
• #42696
Tough one.
I'd say the CUDA is definitely a better dive strap. Have worn them in the sea a fair bit and are clearly popular for that purpose for a reason.
Everything else is down to personal taste I suppose. Will post a side by side later.

Heh, nope, something more for your £11k...
-
• #42698
Split seconds? Are there two seconds hands? Hand stack looks thicc
-
• #42699
Yep, double chronograph (Rattrapante). Quite like the matt finish everything and the complication is fun. Don’t like 17mm thickness or the price :)

I've got the 36 and love it; IMO that's the size for the classic explorer vibe. For the £300 or so it's unbelievable VFM.
