Mini pumps

Anyone tried the Silca Tattico (sans bluetoot thing)? Or what is the current forum favorite for a pump that works for 80/90 psi? Thank you

How long do they take delivery wise?

I think it was a couple of weeks if my memory serves me correctly.

Right. Need a new pump. Even my lezyne floor pump is not ok. I can’t et more that 70psi really unless I spend 20mins and I won’t.

What pump will give me 90+ solid without having to spend ages pumping.

Big as needed ok. Just need proper psi.

Well not a zefal hpx as mine decided to stop functioning as a pump. Topeak Road Master seems popular adn on my list to try. Silca Impero too but I'm not convinced.

Good for fighting off wild dogs too.

Pepper spray for that.

Someone else recommended topeak so will try.

I have an older Silca Super Pista that has a Topeak head on it. Works great, and although not the fastest pump in town it is completely rebuildable.
I like that.

Anyone have a good suggestion for a pump mounting bracket that is fairly low profile? preferably one for the top tube?

Anyone using a neat solution to mount your mini pump to your frame in a way that can quickly be moved about between bikes?

I have a few different bikes and often forget to stick a pump in my jersey pocket when commuting. I know you can get mounts that go under bottle cages, but that's too much of a faff for me to move about between bikes. I'd love to find something that secures my lezyne mini pump somewhere on the frame, but can be moved between my bikes very quickly.

I've found that quite a few mini pump mounts are cross compatible so my Silca pump also works in lezyne, birzman holders. So just leave a bracket on each frame and swap pumps between them (or have more than one pump...)

Just buy a Zefal HPX for each bike. Much easier.

Still recommending the ipump @Black_Rainbow_Project ? Just seen a video online of it hitting 120psi with next to no effort.

As an ultralight option, for people who hardly ever get punctures they are a good option... But they definitely require effort. The ipump floor is a lot easier to use, and takes less effort, but is longer than the regular ipump. It's volume where they take a long time... Mtb tyres etc
Unfortunately my floor version's handle broke... But Maurice is a great guy and offered to replace it immediately. I just never got around to sending it back.
I have tried to get him to make a lower pressure, higher volume version... But I don't think he has yet.

At the end of the day, it's an ultralight pump to get you going again if you happen to get a puncture, so it will take longer, but do the job.
I used them because I don't get punctures very often, so it was nice having an almost unnoticeable pump in my bag. But on my 29er/+ bike I'm now using the lezyne fat bike pump, which weighs shit loads more, but fills a huge tyre in no time.

True, that could be an option. Bottle cage is a bit more discreet than under the top tube anyway, so would maybe look better

Haha, but with 4 bikes that's an 80 quid solution, which is way more than I want to spend 😉

I may even have a spare bracket somewhere, if one turns up when I'm next looking through the parts box I'll give you a shout as that'd be one down!

Anyone know what the "V2" implies on this? How would I tell if a retailer is selling an older/newer version of the Lezyne Micro Floor HV pump?

Yeah, I kinda worked that bit out. I want to know what, if anything changed. I don't want to buy one only to find out it's got some fault they fixed in a newer version.

After doing a bunch of research looking for a pump in this category, it came down to the Birzman Mini Apogee and the Topeak RaceRocket HP/HPC for me. I ended up picking the Birzman despite its potentially worse usability (no hose, no grip) because it's quite a bit smaller, and will just cross my fingers that my good luck with punctures continues. I'm still waiting for it to arrive so I won't be able to provide impressions for a while (hopefully ever).

CyclingTips did a mass review with length, weight and efficiency data that I used to help inform my choice.

I dispise lezyne screw on. I use topeak HV one now.
Someone showed me one up components one the other day. Both are near 100cc for 160ish g.
