Wonder if they can be made to work as a primary lever by blocking up the other port.
No because there is no reservoir.

Cheers. Looks like the way to go.

Any recommendations for replacement pads for BB7s? Are Kool Stop just as good at disc brakes as they are at rim brakes?
I've had enough of mine squeaking and no amount of disc brake cleaner works...

Have you tried copper slip on the rear of the pads? A lot of the noise is caused by dry pads rubbing against the piston and echoing within the caliper. A bit of copper slip prevents this.
It's the same as you/a mechanic would do on a car -

I have not... Thank you!

What are these little things that came with a pair of new Shimano rotors? Says "top" and there's three of them. Do they go between rotor and hub? Rotor and bolt? And which direction is "top" supposed to be?

They go in the bin, they are designed as washers to stop the bolts loosening. Between rotor and bolt, top on top, so you can see the word top.

Cool, thanks. I fitted them. Now let's see if my bolts ping off into the undergrowth on the first ride.
-
• #6160
It's like, your bolt will not come off, so here's a washer to make sure they won't come off, for sure.

User error...

User error...
And here's the thing, even with user error, it still gonna come off.

These two adapters are marked for the frame or forks, is there actually anything different about them? Why couldn't I use the forks on my frame?

is there actually anything different about them?
They're very different. The bolt spacing, threading, and basically everything about them is different. Except the colour.

Need some replacement pads for my Rival calipers. What's the current go to?

Swissstop if outright performance is more important than VFM. Uberbike if not.

I’ve had a new wheel set built and am having trouble installing the disc rotor on the rear hub.
It’s a Hope RS4 centre lock hub.
The cassette tool to tighten the lock ring won’t fit over the axle end, So the teeth won’t engage with the lock ring.
Does anyone have this hub and is able to tell me what I’m doing wrong? -
• #6168
You need lockring that has notches to tighten on the outside, usually the same interface as hollowtech 2 bottom brackets.
-

This is what I’ve got that doesn’t work.
Would you mind linking to what I do need?

I have an RS4 hub and I think it is the same as an external bb tool? unsure.. I need to find out though!
anywhere doing rip-off Dura ace R9100 disc pads? uberbike don't seem to unfortunately. would like to get some with re-usable fins

• #6172
Is this what you mean?
Sorry for the many questions -
• #6173
Yeah, that'll do it, some of the thru axle hubs leave enough room to sneak a cassette tool in but the hope ones need a different lockring.
-
• #6174
I think you need this;

I have one you are more than welcome to borrow.

Thanks Andy, but I have that tool already. It’s the outer edge splined lock ring I think I need.
I ordered one.
New Shimano BLRX812 GRX hydraulic cross top levers, just available recently, super useful for some folks maybe. Aimed as a way of adding a cross top lever for a 'gravel bike' but can see them being useful on touring rigs and mad recumbent and adapted use bikes.
This blog has best photos of them, look very neatly made, skinny wire type band means they'll probably fit most 31.8mm bars, though the rest of the lever is quite large.
Wonder if they can be made to work as a primary lever by blocking up the other port.
