Blue

I had purple parts on my bikes BITD. I think orange or black - which of those, IHNIWID thread fellows?

Having tried to make the same hope colour decision earlier today this is not the rational statement I was hoping for from this thread...but bitex and Kinlin will be more fun...right?

I've always associated you with orange (the penguin, the Time Machine etc.).
-
• #2256
Not sure, I've only used hope in recent years. :)
Think we're all going to need hope in our lives!
I think orange is the colour of choice for an otherwise black setup. Or purple. Not black though, you won't even notice it.

But you’ll still hear it...

So true.

170 is better for someone your height as long as the seattube will accommodate it.

Team Green, obviously.

Orange. Obvs.

Gold. Always gold

Light blue would be topical. Oh Phil beat me to it, never mind.

Ewwww, that XT shifter looks nasty

Since I started talking to Pace they've put together an XT version, for ~700 less than the XTR version they've specified for me. I stuck with the Schwalbe tyres, but they've put the XT on Maxxis.
I found the Maxxis very draggy as they've got a much more aggressive profile, but as it's an Enduro bike they might be a better bet - thoughts?

Will the wheels be interchangeable between the Scalpel and the Pace? Could be a simple way of running two sets of tyres

You're not a real mountain biker until you've got 10 different sets of tyres in the shed. Wouldn't let the tyres put me off a full build.

Handily the front wheel would interchange, but the rear would not - rear on the Pace is boost, rear on the Cannondale is non-boost, but is asymmetric.

Ergo, I need a shed.

I find tubeless puts me off swapping tyres like I used to, so would be inclined to have a couple of wheelsets, for convenience
Most likely though, I'd get tyres that were ok at everything, rather than great at any one thing

The Schwalbes are probably fine. If you think a tyre is unnecessarily draggy, it'll irritate you

• #2273
How much riding up are you going to be doing on this?
If not much surely the better grip/puncture resistance of the Maxxis (dependant on model and of Schwalbe) makes the drag pretty irrelevant?

There is that. I can't help but think of the efficiency, but if this is a bike for uplift days, then chunky tyres ftw!

Hard to answer that - I'm going to try to ride every weekend, in the expectation of failing to hit that goal (if that makes sense). An ideal weekend would be Peaslake on the Saturday and Swinley on the Sunday, taking the appropriate bike to each.
Save your money. We're all going to need every penny.
