Just removed the Rocket Ron, moved the Hans Dampf to the back and put the Magic Mary on the front. I've not measured it, and with energy efficient lightbulbs and my 43 year old eyes I can't read anything on the sidewall that might be there, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the rear tyre is slightly wider than the front.

Orange + nicer cranks

Just buy some eeWing cranks and be done with it.

Would be XTR cranks, which I think are quite nice.

Hope cranks in orange. Or a Kenevo :)

I’ll check tomorrow. Can always order another rear tyre. Slightly surprised at how narrow the Magic Mary is.

Rear tyre is 6cm, front is 5cm. Balls.

I can’t find a Hans Dampf in less than 2.35, the Msgic Mary is 2.25. Should I get another wider Magic Mary and move the 2.25 to the back?
-
• #2286
Bought a Nobby Nic for the back in 2.25.

The Magic Mary that I bought, which I have on the front at the moment is a 2.25 - is this a bit small, and should I take it off and save it for a rainy day and get a 2.6 to go on the front?
(The Hans Dampf that was on the front is a 2.55).

2.6" should sit nicer on your wide rims than the 2.25" as well

Do it

Done. I will have ALL the grip.

I admit, I find the sheer range of choice for every tyre that Schwalbe make very confusing.
I've got an Addix SpeedGrip (Blue), Snakeskin, TLE 2.25 Nobby Nic for the back, and an Addix Soft, TLE, Snakeskin, Apex 2.6 Magic Mary for the front.
Is that a good match/specification? Who the fuck knows.

Schwalbe - just buy 'em all and see what you like

Yep! Once you’ve pulled the zip up you are care free for the ride, and then just step out of it and into the car with the clothes you just rode in bone dry.

Could you show the link to this suit of wonder?
I have a YT Capra that I bought thinking I’d use it at BPW and local trails up and down in South Wales and a Stanton for more trail like duties.
As things have worked out if it’s ever going up a grab the Stanton and keep the Capra set up way more inefficient but faaaaaar more fun and set for purpose.
Either way you’ll chop and change whatever you start with so choose one and see how you get on.
