Looks like Harringay is the next proposed area for action
https://rebellion.earth/event/north-london-uprising/It will make a change from the regular PKK marches down there.

In our reception there are two people from Extinction Rebellion. They are here to do a one hour presentation to any employee who wants to attend.
We get 3 days of paid volunteering per year and I am told we can use these days to attend actions. -

Who's joining this on 7th Sept?

I might go to this. You taking the nipper Dov? Wanna meet?

Anyone joining the youth climate strikes today?
Main event at Millbank, meeting 11am.
TUC also recommend tweeting etc a workplace photo to show support if you can't get out ( #climatestrike ) -

Yep, will head down on my lunch break. As a civil servant there are some pretty strict rules on actually striking, plus I work in a climate change related role so there are arguments to support getting back to my desk and getting some work done!

I'm WFH. If I clean the flat and watch episodes of Elementary instead of working, that counts, right?

We have a lot of people out on the strikes today in London, brighton and Chichester. Made more appealing I suspect in that we can use one of our 3 paid volunteering days to attend.

Judging by the massive amount of cunts in cars this weekend most people have chosen extinction.

Suspect a lot of parents driving further than usual taking students back to studies/halls of residence.

Went for a spin round central London early on Sunday. Spotted the pink yacht (not a euph) on Exhibition Road. Is that new?

Extinction Rebellion is planning to shut down Westminster for at least 2 weeks from 7th October. This will be similar to the April shutdown but with more sites and each site taking on a distinct theme (see third link). There are many ways to get involved, one of which is joining your local group. They exist all over the UK (and the world for that matter). Find you local group here: https://rebellion.earth/act-now/local-groups/
See you there!

Also, more Lfgss specific, the Logistics team really needs volunteers (cyclists mainly) to help out during the rebellion moving equipment and supplies to and between sites. There are some trailers available but if you have your own even better. If you can spare some time please get in touch at xrlogistics@protonmail.com
Cheers!

That is hilarious. If they're the ones who are going to save the planet ...

It's cute that they think there is a government.

I wonder how our new, liberal, progressive Home Secretary will react to the shut down.
-

They are not the ones going to save the planet. The planet will be fine.
They are the ones making sure that there are structures in place to make sure the human race is saved. -

"suspicion of criminal damage"
Assuming it wasn't paint and disappears in the rain... what damage?
They broadcast this from the stage, so guess it's free to share... London, Oct 7th, 2 week action.
