I requested CCTV footage from a bus. The company sent me a DVD in the post. It came with this information.

This seems odd. As I understand the data (cctv footage) is mine and I can do what I want with it? It also says I have to return the DVD to the bus company.

Question: I don't have a camera so I have to remember plates.

So you can enter a plate into parts sites to see if it matches the car, before you annoy the police.

Tit today however had a custom plate...and it doesn't come up. So either is misremembered (no use wasting the time of a nice PSNI agent then) OR those don't work with custom plates.

Anybody know any tricks for that? Cos it was maybe half a meter (probably generous if I read the commuting thread here) but fuck that, they had a whole lane to go into. They need a telling off.

Police will tend to do sweet fuck all without photographic evidence or another witness.

The PSNI actually will go after drivers, they did before when an UPS driver nearly killed me doing a u-turn.

I only had a plate and that it was an UPS van, they spoke to the depot.

Not sure they can fine somebody but they will give them a bollocking at least.

Why do you think you don’t have the correct VRM? Contact PSNI and let them look for the vehicle.

Have reported a few incidents to the Met and although for many I've had a frustrating response of 'no further action', there are are a few that have resulted in a "Notice of Intended Prosecution" being sent to the driver. I've never heard anything more after this though. Is there a way of finding out if the 'intended' prosecution resulted in an 'actual' prosection?!

The NIP should have been send from an actual person so you can respond to them directly asking for updates.

Court proceedings are public , if you have a clue which court it was then the outcome might be easily obtainable

Question about video footage: How many cameras do you need and what angle? As it is hard to spot if someone gave you 1.5 meter a meter or 0.5 from just one camera

Obv. mega bellendry of left hooking etc. will show up. But what setup is needed for close passes?

Front and rear facing if you can. Road markings give the clearest indication of how close they were. If they are not over the white line then it's only ever a close pass technically.

The cycliq front cameras can do a tramline overlay (you need to enter height of camera and offset from centre of bike)
