So Johnson wants to model our immigration system on Australia. That's working out well for them...
Is he suggesting detention camps on Jersey, Scilly Isles, Isle of Man? (I realise it's only the 'points system' that's being mooted at the moment - but the phrase thin end of the wedge springs to mind)
Fucking tit.

Interesting given the UK already has a points based immigration system:-

So then in reality, it will be nibbling round the edges. But the implication for the voting Tories is there in the subtext right enough.

It’s a fairly basic slang for “whites only”, as most Gammon believe Australia to be 100% English speaking white folk (with some Aborigines in the outback somewhere, providing scenery for holidays).
It’s meaningless in terms of actual details, there’s absolutely no point comparing them as that’s not the point of the message.

Obviously you shouldn't generalise...
But:
A general rule for life is to ignore the opinion of anyone who proposes an Aussie points system as a solution to an immigration problem.

Really want the Bip Ling rumour to be true but it doesn’t seem to have legs.

Interesting analysis from some policy wonks (one for the constitution geeks only)

just in case anyone was in any doubt as to what a vile shit hunt is:
When I went to Auschwitz I rather complacently said to myself, ‘thank goodness we don’t have to worry about that kind of thing in the UK’ and now I find myself faced with the leader of Labour who has opened the door to antisemitism

Good old Tories. Very dependable.
One promising a tax cut for the rich while the other is planning on bringing back fox-hunting.

Cockney Rhyming Hunt isn't bringing back fox hunting any more, he's trying to wheedle his way back out of it again.
It's gone a bit quiet around Boris again. Which suits him, I suppose. Although the criticism from Hammond and the IFS probably hasn't helped.

‘Twas ever thus. Remember that one of the first policies May tried to pass when she got into office was the reintroduction of grammar schools.

Donald Trump would make a good British Prime Minister, say 54% of Tory party members.

Joris Bohnson is so spectacularly ignorant, his supposed 'Classics' studies have apparently not informed him about the rather rich Islamic contributions to art and philosophy, among other topics:

Piffle on the fiddle?
Apparently, @BorisJohnson’s huge & public row with Carrie Symonds that the neighbours taped was all about his new affair with a 28 yr old violinist- most journalists know this but are not covering the story.

Is there something in private eye on that I wonder.

Has anyone actually seen it in Private Eye or is it just being suggested as such?

Could this be him self-sabotaging to get out of having to become PM?
Loosing because you’re banging a young babe seems a bit like Paolini getting himself kicked out of the Giro for testing positive for good old cocaine.
You leave the game as a bit of a geezer, your street cred intact. -

It's too late for that I reckon - he's probably already won on votes posted.
