He's young. Thats about all he has going for him
That's a negative - just means it's longer until he dies...

Suprised that Spike from Press Gang has suddenly become the outside favourite for Tory leader.
-
• #29
Well he was brexit secretary, which made him more high profile.
I don't support him...

Well he was brexit secretary,
And he failed spectacularly.

It could just be a legacy of CallMeDave, who famously described local activists as 'swivel-eyed loons', but then again they hated him for supporting the legislation for Gay Marriage.

Raab will take us out without a deal.
Stewart is the most palatable on that front followed by, gulp, Jeremy Hunt.
-
• #33
Raab is the worst outcome as he’s a true believer.
-
• #34
Wager? ;-)

The swivel eyed hate Stewart for being a commie or something and looking a bit weird. He did do a strange piece to camera today with his arm out as if he was holding the camera like a blogger....I think that’s his Miliband bacon sandwich moment

When did we last have a Scottish Tory prime minister?

Tbf I don't think you ever "just" complete a training contract at a magic circle law firm.
But I didn't realise he moved straight into a political career path. Does make it seem like he was treading water until embarking into politics. Especially when you look at what wiki lists as his secondments.

If you take what is said on Twitter about Raab to be moderately truthfull he was considered too senior to sack, but after one incident he couldn’t be put in front of/in touch with clients, which made him not tremendously useful.

Cameron going on his surname
-
• #40
He's been quiet but he's probably been preparing all his social media machinery (and Lynton Crosby etc).

Cameron going on his surname
He was born in London, however.
Given the current prevailing chest-thumping nationalism that is gripping the nation I don't think that anyone who is not 100% white English will secure the votes of the Tory membership - Sajid has less chance than I do (and I'm not standing), Stewart and Gove are insufficiently English.

Bet you a £5 donation to the forum that Javid is our next PM.

I bet you a £5 forum donation it's Hunt.

I'd be interested to know what the odd are on it not being put to the party members. So they get down to the last 2 and one of them is, encouraged to drop out.

Wasn't it an interview with The Times that torpedoes Leadsom's campaign in 2016?
Uncle Rupert has our best interests at heart. -

I'm sure there was quote doing the rounds from one of the big tory donors following the IDS debacle they would never allow the members choose the leader again.
-

That's broadly my memory,
but when I checked, it turned out that Cameron beat Davis on a membership vote. -

James Cleverly has announced himself as runner number 11 in the race. He is probably too new and too brown to be a serious contender but is raising his profile for a top job from the new PM. He was Boris' ax man at the GLA, now he is Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union. He has been pro Brexit, on the radio this morning he came out as against a hard exit but being prepared for it to happen.
