Finally got this out on the road. Wheel upgrade and tweaks to fit will be on the list. First impressions after a short spin is fast but more importantly, fun. So glad I swapped to a 52.

Quick question: the R500 has maybe 8 cm between the lower end of the seat stays and the dropouts. Was this done to lessen stress on the dropouts?

Is it possible to find the CAAD12 disc frameset in purple?

I can only find it as a full build..

The 2018 with the thru-axle fork? Pretty impossible I’d say. I’ve been looking for a 54cm to replace my 56cm. I’ll let you know if I spot one!

Saeco six13 on eBay with the good fork and best cranks. I've asked if they'd split the cranks but no joy. Anyone fancy the frame and selling me the cranks? Can't be arsed buying the whole thing then reselling the frame. £45 postage can do one though. Hate when people do that.

I think you’d struggle.
The system six was arguably the better frame and 250-300 would get you one of those. It’s only really the red and silver/red caads that command money because of saeco

The mystical three carbon tube version too. Ah if only I did road riding still...

Stop it with this < SystemSix nonsense - they were very different frames that were both class beating in some ways and compromised in others. I’d know which one I’d rather do an all day ride on.

What was the actual difference between the two frames?

i want those forks though if you do end up with it.

The front end of the System six including the fork was a complete departure - top tube, downtube and headtube all new, and share more in common with the Six / SuperSix than the CAADs that came before it.

They'd look so good on my cherry caad 7 though...

I can't really buy it. I want the cranks but not for how much I'd end up paying.
