We have an interloper. Male kitten/ teenager just invited himself in, bossed Hocus and Pocus (3 year old girls) off their food, ate the lot then legged it. I think he has been around a while as H&P did not seem too bothered by him.

Day off with Fleur today! She’s already confused as to why I’m here and plodded off to sleep on the bed.

Ha. Lola looked like that last night too. I took her up into the loft for a bit of adventure. Lots of fun with 90 year old spider webs and discarded bee hives. She loved it so much it was a 5 minute effort to bring her back down. Kept clinging on to the edges of the loft hatch for dear life when I tried to carry her down.

Ah yeah Cleo used to love our loft in Hackney! She’d run up the ladder as soon as we turned our backs and not leave without a proper fight.

Here's one of fabric on his heat mat, looking at me with contempt for daring to disturb him for a photo.
He's ten now so we built him a few walkways around the flat so he can get to his favourite high places easier.

big fan of George and Fabric
will have to investigate heat mats...I think Jimmy will thank you.
Unrelatedly, can anyone recommend a covered litter tray that isn't aesthetically hideous or incredibly expensive?

Has anyone had a cat flap fitted recently? Need to get one put in in a window...

We recently bought a sureflap connect, it’s excellent (you’d hope so for the £££) - I assume the non-app ones are the same quality, just with less annoying phone notifications.
‘Cleo has gone out’
‘George has looked through the catflap’
‘Cleo has come in’

I want one of these, that’d really help to know how often does Patch go out and for how long!
I have said it before and will say this again, I highly recommend SurePet care (SureFlap) as a company. The lock knob broke a couple of times and 1 phone call to them and they sent me a new one next day deliveries free of charge, even when out of warranty.
1st time the knob broke, they were gonna send me the whole front frame for free because I said the actual flap is quite scratched, but it’s too much trouble to have to remove the frame so only asked for the knob.
They said the only time they’d charge something is when the electrical parts broke, in which case they will charge 50% of the RRP for a brand new unit. So effectively, it’s kind of lifetime warranty...

So far, everything about it is better than other brands/flaps I’ve wasted money on - it’s quiet, locks/unlocks quickly (fast enough to let one running cat out and stop the one chasing it), seems pretty solidly made and so far has been very reliable.
Not sure how useful this info is but it keeps Mrs Hammer happy and it makes the thing very easy to control at least!

It’d be very useful for me right now as the battle between that stupid cat upstairs and Patch carries on. Vet is beginning to worry about Patch not going out enough and yet not using her litter tray often enough.
Maybe I should invest...
So you can lock and unlock the flap in the comfort of your bed, essentially?
Just how many time do your cats go out and in? 😸

Thanks, someone at my work has just offered me the same one funnily enough. Who did you have fit it?
-
• #8974
I haven't had anyone fit it... It's boxed and unused :)

Ha, sorry thought you must have one yourself or something
stunning!
