  • I looked into bulk loading a while back. You CAN save money, but not much, DX coded re-spoolable canisters are more pricey, and you can risk losing money if you fuck it up and accidentally exposing a whole roll/the bulk roll
    Edit: mi7rennie knows more than me. If he says its worth it it probably is. Just not for me atm :)

  • Yeah my plan was to just go to a place that develops and just ask them for a bunch of random canisters and sort them into ISOs for DX codes and then only use ones with the intended DX in point and shoots but whatever I want in another 35mm

    The risk of exposing the whole roll I would guess is fairly low anyway.

    @miro_o @mi7rennie how difficult would it be to do it inside a dark bag to reduce any potential film wastage?

    And what loaders do you use? Is there any reason not to just get the £30ish unbranded ones?

    You only need to load the loader in the dark (assuming you use a regular ‘daylight loader’). I use a Watson style loader. It’s fine.
