You’ll need to move to a coarser grit for deeper scratches, but it can be quite scary at the time as you watch yourself making lots of new scratches. Put masking tape around the bezel.

Great! Now I don't have to worry about wanting to buy it!

This!

I’m guessing it’s good news?
I remember looking when you bought yours and they were £3.5-4K. Can’t get one for less than 6.5-7k a few years later... pretty good ROI!

I told my girlfriend this and she recommended buying two of whatever watch I wanted next, one to wear and one to put in the safe unworn. I'd need to buy a safe, and a house to put it in, that said.

In other news, I saw this when going though Heathrow the other day - I think the white lume actually looks quite anaemic when put side by side:

When they released the Tintin it wasn’t an official limited edition and no one knew how many there were, it seemed like a fairly steady stream were available. Now it appears there were only ~2000 and uber collectible. 110 pages of info on OF if you can be arsed... https://omegaforums.net/threads/speedy-tintin-information-gathering.33387/

Really struggling to get my head around what your jacket looks like with canvas sleeves and a tweed trunk.

Yep, I'd read that when I was looking for mine - I think I got one of the last ones. I submitted my serial number to the thread in case that helped work out how many there were.
A series production watch with theoretically no limit on numbers that actually only had a special-edition scale run.
My* 1948 Seamaster is likely to be produced in similar numbers, as you say.
* if two people in the queue before me pass

Had to take the kid to the doctor this morning and noticed he was wearing a snide Panerai. Instant distrust.

Last time we took the kid to the GP, the doc was wearing an Air-King, the horrible new sort. Bad vibes.

Put a relatively pedestrian sized diver on this week, after wearing the smaller Omega and the like... felt huge on the wrist. Did not like.

Glad you like it. Have you checked out the lume yet?
That’ll polish out fine, most likely. Personally, I wouldn’t waste money on a new crystal.
If the scratches are deep then you can work up from 400 grit.
