In happier news my 2017 Apple crop made a good cider, and 2018 even better so at tasting pre-bottling.
Also, and more relevant here, whilst looking for the cider I found a bottle of Amundsen 2015 Fear the Reaper which I'd bought last summer I think then clearly forgotten about.

Don't know if you've already done this, but the Chesham Arms in Mehetabel Road (Easts venue--well, when it happens) would be my choice.

Chesham Arms
Thanks! I've been meaning to try there. I will go to the Adam & Eve fairly regularly as SFT - https://sciencefictiontheatre.co.uk/ - has moved to the Castle. Chesham Arms will be a good alternative.
On Tues, as I was getting caught by the rain and snow, I popped into The De Beauvoir Arms for a quick Adnams IPA. Onto the The Railway Tavern to dry off by the fire. I must have cycled past there thousands of times, so good to finally pay it a visit. Just the sort of intimate, gloomy but friendly boozer I like, and had a Kernal beer on tap. Was in two minds about bothering trying to fit in the Red Hand, but I did. Great selection as always from the group, and had a Tagernseer Helles, although kicked myself when I saw Augustiner bottles in the fridge. Huge space - will come into its own on summer weekends.

Tegernseer Helles
Fixed.
Nice to hear you had a good pub crawl.
You've probably already seen it, but there's also the Spread Eagle across the way from the Adam and Eve. It's run by Club Mexicana, who specialise in delicious vegan Mexican food. Extremely in demand and requires advance booking, though, so probably not suitable for your post-cinema requirements.

Cheers - that came up in discussion as the place to meet before the films, but we’re liking the Adam & Eve burgers for that.
Is the Tiger down the road worth visiting do you know?

I found the Nascot Arms near the station which wasn't too bad in the end. Still quite the pub wasteland though.

Any suggestions for pubs/bars in Bristol? I gather it's meant to be all hipster now so thought I'd go and try it out.

Went to the Bottle Shop on Friday, Paradise by Prairie is incredible.
On tap at the Axe. Very nice indeed.

Some might blame that on the demise of Benskins Brewery as a standalone business:

(I wasn't around then). -

I'm currently sitting in a local bar drinking my second glass of Vibrant Forest's "Pupa". It is seriously delicious.

Struggled to find the 2018 winter release of this before Xmas. On it at last, great as always.

Waiting for the right time. It's 19.3%...
The Gozer was lovely though. Might get another bottle of that.
