Just read up on
Verdant's Putty
Sounds quite similar to the CW/MR can I had earlier^^^, would be good to compare.

It's £9.80 a bottle in the shop I've found it in. Ouch. So tasty tho.

That's funny. Because I can barely remember it. And I thought it was real compared to German beers.

Brewed by Mährs.

Shit, now I want one.
Vicaris Generaal for me yesterday. Last of my supply :(

All I really like drinking is German lagers these days (Augustiner Helles, Hacker-Pschorr Münchner Hell) and thought this stands up against them, despite the lower ABV.

Me too!
I went through a stage in the summer. The augusteiner beers are great.I really didn't like it so much.
I do like the small beers stuff though.

I wish there was more of it about. I often go to Clapton Craft and they're sold out of the good ones. There is a great place in East Dulwich called 'Bottle Cave' (formerly Bossman Wines) which has a good selection and stock of German beers.
This one is great, but I haven't seen it anywhere: https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/5709/42871/

There is a beercave in Sydenham too....
-

Which is banging out the Buxton brews too.

Any home brewers on here? Might be worth giving your local bomb squad the heads up...

Ouch. Only beermoth likely to have some here, will stump up if I find it!

Does Watford have any decent pubs (preferably somewhere between the train station and the football ground).
The past twenty years of going there suggests not but I'm willing to be convinced.

Felt weak in the headwinds so needed a le fort.

The only one I knew,
along the mainly pedestrianised High Street,
by the walk through to a Church,
was shuttered/hoardinged up last time I went past.https://www.yelp.co.uk/search?cflt=pubs&find_near=watford-junction-watford
Suggests a slight detour along the St Albans road gives some choice.

What pub or two should I stop at for a pint on this route or very similar? (not Wenlock Arms, that's where I'm starting)...

The Earl of Essex and The Red Hand.
-
• #7345
Earl of Essex is a huge favourite of mine. Don't know the Red Hand, though - shortlisted.
-
• #7346
Railway Tavern, Duke of Wellington or De Beauvoir Arms I'd say. Railway Tavern would be my choice.
-
• #7347
Then Red Hand is for you. Opened last week. Same guys as Earl of Essex and The Axe, from whom they nicked a few staff.
-
• #7348
At Red Hand opening evening was told by beer geek how he sent his mate searching for Alt in Köln.
-
• #7349
Thanks guys. I'm going to go to the Railway and Red Hand.
