  • What isn't? The perfectly 2-dimensional tag at right, the EF logo printed on a flexible, curved surface seen from slightly above in such a way it appears to hover in its own plane, or the strangely cut-off lower edge of the brim?

  • I had a Hypercolor T-shirt back in the day. Not long enough ago for it to engender nostalgia. Out...

  • Is this real?!

  • They even finish sale early so they can introduce this sh£t.

  • Snood is nice.

  • Are they Specialized bottles?

  • New EF kit is a breath of fresh air. I dig it.

Doing anything thats totally original in this day in age is bascially impossible, but great to see Rapha having a damn good stab at stepping away from the norm.

It's great that so many of you guys seem to hate it. Any worthwhile design should split opinions - if it pleases everybody, then whats the point? It's quite funny how some people seem physically angered by it though.... It's just a cycling kit FFS. It's not coming to kill your whole family in front of you.

Chapeau to Rapha. Look forward to seeing how their new 'road map' and alternative vison on World Tour cycling evolves througout the EF partnership.

I'm gonna go buy a bucket hat now.
    Peace out.

  • The Times fashion thing yesterday even had a great big "you need to get a bucket hat" photo spread for women

  • All pack shot style product shots are photoshopped to some degree. It has to be cut out from the background to use on websites and other digital media. It looks to me like the logo was actually on the hat and shot in camera, but as long as it represents the product you are buying, who cares.

Anyway, I think @dumps was saying he thought it was mocked up in PS as a joke.

  • This. Though now I know it's not a joke I do quite want one.

  • I dont give a toss about aesthetics but the “road map” is the most out of touch thing i have read since unfollowing elon musk.

    Cycling is finished.
(Will buy the technical t shirt and bucket cap for running/MTB-ing)

  • l o l

I think it's a practical joke, because if you go out wearing a pink/purple bucket hat you are going to look like a personified penis (figuratively and literally)

  • Best kit they have made in ages.

  • Like I said, you cant win 'em all.
Have fun running, hopefully it will last a bit longer than cycling for you!

  • If rapha wins me they lose, i dont spend, i am BAME

  • I hope you are not accusing Paul Rand of plagiarism.

  • Other way round.

  • Also, isn't this the first Slipstream kit to drop the argyle motif completely?

This is the team launch kit in 2007:

And this is the previous kit after EF came in - there is still a bit in the sleeve cuffs.

  • EF was one of Rand's final logos, in 1994. The specific BASF logo with the swirl posted above is around a decade later, but there were earlier versions; the lettering dates from 1986.

    Edit 1: here's a 1990 tape:

I'll have to check when I get home, but I also have a sample of the swirl element on a box of reel-to-reel tape which I think dates from the 1970s.

You may wish to retract 'numbnuts'.

    Edit 2: here's a 1979 race livery:

  • We all know you spend. Too much.

  • Have they actually published the roadmap anywhere us plebs can read it? They've been trailing it for about a year now, haven't they?
