They are just following all the trends tbh. You just have to google fashion trends 2019 and silly bucket hats are coming, not just from cycling brands. Not a dig at Rapha, it's the way it all churns along.. but it's not stepping away from the norm.

I only know this in the context of rowing, but they came back into 'style' about 2 years ago there. 'Style' meaning American highschoolers wearing them semi-ironically for what they call 'free speed', and then everybody else imitating them. Personally, I can't stand the things, but hey... I'm just waiting for the top hat to come back.
