Lots of cool Daydate

Would new seals - paired with a pressure test be the worst case scenario do you reckon?
Yeah but I’m not an expert in getting watches to be waterproof. All mine I presume are not in any way and I treat them as such. Someone else here might know though

It’s definitely one of the best parts of wearing modern over vintage, not worrying so much about water.
I wore my ‘79 Speedy yesterday and got a bit panicked when I realised it was running really slow, only noticed I’d left the crown out after a good few hours wear, idiot. In my defence it’s a non hacking movement but still there’s probably popadom dust in there now. -

Not really, obvs, etc., I had @inchpincher’s King Seiko on. It’s a nice watch though, the OP 36. I’ll take one with the steel dial please.

I've used Robert Reeves five or six times for a service and he has always been happy to not polish if requested.

@Stonehedge absolutely! Thanks again for the shout, been emailing with him about it.

I'm not that averse to watches with less than 50 numbers on the face!
That said, if you say Breitling, most people will think Navitimer. Navitimer => slide rule bezel. Slide rule bezel => all the numbers!
As far as uncluttered slide rule watches go, I've not seen much cleaner than this:
Not that I'm biased of course...

On a separate note, I'm not one for NATO straps, but this Martini one is pretty damn tempting:

Certainly shows that new AP CODE 11.59 thing who’s boss.

I need to read up on that new AP but first impressions are 👎

General consensus seems to be that it looks like a Diesel fashion watch or a Tissot more than anything. The new chrono movement sounds really interesting but the dial’s a bit of a mess.
I quite like the look of what they’ve done with the crystal on these but the rotated date is 🤦🏻♂️.

Does it come with a lifetime supply of Martini?

That's probably one of the best Seiko Solars I've seen.

Disagree. Blergh....

I find the seconds chapter ring incongruous, lugs are kind of cool in a ‘how did they machine that?’ way.
Regal and I had a watch swap because I don’t do diver and he doesn’t do dress, took his Squale for a ramen this evening. Deffo room in my box for one of these, really comfy and super clean dial.
