Spouting the same shit -
Kelly Ann Conway:
... in an appearance on Fox News, said the wall was necessary for migrants’ own good to deter families with children from making the perilous journey from Central America to the border.
Sajid Javid:
“Also, if you do somehow make it to the UK, we will do everything we can to make sure that you are often not successful because we need to break that link, and to break that link means we can save more lives,”

Javid reminds me of Stephen from Django.

he always looks like he has hair, but is wearing a bald hat.

Back to the boats
A firm awarded a government contract to provide extra ferry services has used website terms and conditions apparently intended for a takeaway food firm.

funnelling public funds into private capital. the acceptable face of socialism.

I think this is a very good editorial on Javid's most recent nasty bullshit:
Worse, he appeared to suggest that the UK would discriminate against those who arrived this way to deter others: “We will do everything we can to make sure that you are often not successful because we need to break that link, and to break that link means we can save more lives.” (As lawyers noted, it would be illegal to use decisions to deter others; Mr Javid later said applications would be processed “in the normal way”.)
Or:
In recent days, Javid has also been criticised after he repeatedly referred to people making the Channel crossing as “illegal” migrants, though it is not against the law to seek asylum.
I consider this sort of thing politically scandalous, but nothing seems to scandalise people in politics any more, unless they want to damage Jeremy Corbyn.

Javid is pushing voter's buttons by saying what they want to hear unfortunately.
The reality is most of the country aren't the slightest bit scandalised by his comments because they agree with him.

Absolutely not 'most of the country'.
It's the usual race to the bottom that rightwingers try for votes. Thankfully, it often misfires, as in the recent case of Horst Seehofer in Germany, whose behaviour has been disgraceful and cost his party dearly at the polls (in Bavaria).

I'm less convinced that it's not "most of the country".
A large number aren't that upset by it but are guided by the headlines of a migrant crisis and the rest and feel "something needs to be done".
Let's be honest, if we were all tolerant of immigrants we wouldn't be wondering what's next in the Brexit process.

By most I mean > 50%. So yes, see Brexit.

Someone has been shot dead by police in a drugs raid for a cannabis dealer.
"Police are yet to find a firearm at the scene, but the search continues, a spokeswoman said on Saturday afternoon."
I wouldn't be surprised if one 'showed up'.
-
• #55066
Perhaps it was removed from the scene by a drone?

If we believed in the gun more it would appear

We need firearms to find firearms.

Last year this was the time I got annoyed about the sudden onslaught of people in the gym. Well, I found a brilliant solution to that. Can't get annoyed at people in the gym if you don't go to the gym! *taps forehead*

Was working at Elstree Studios during the summer, was rude not to patronise the Borehamwood branch for my trademark special beanburger order...

There must be more to this than meets the eye.
On safer ground ...
The front page of the Guardian website today carries a stock picture of a chap doing something to some bits of metal in a factory ...
... that turns out to be a guy brazing up a Brompton rear sub-frame!
Respect!
