Although I may just be being controversial for the sake of it . My love for Grande Seiko is well known.

Everything, including your set of hand-blown green glass dishes with the tiny bubbles and imperfections, little bits of sand, proof they were crafted by the honest, simple, hard-working indigenous aboriginal people of wherever.

Now you're just trying to confuse me with words.

Oooohhhh.
No . Have read it but not seen it. -

Last week I spent a day bowling around watch shops, tried on a lot of different stuff and the Grand Seiko watches blew the rest away, do not understand the hate.
-
• #30784
Brand snobbery.

I've never worn a grand Seiko but I think the major problem is that a $300 Seiko doesn't look that much different. And the GS design is just always too much, like they go crazy with all these great finishing techniques and include them all into one watch.

Because people haven’t seen them or want to treat their watch as a potential future cash cow. I guess. They’re unbelievably nice in the flesh. Every now and then I think ‘oh maybe I should stop saving for a GA’. Then I see one in the shop window and I’m like oh no wait these are ridiculously good.

This. If you think you like watches but don't at least appreciate the quality of a GS, even if you hate the design, you need to take a long hard look at yourself.
-
• #30788
Yeah. I guess some people may genuinely not be into the design, that’s totally understandable, but I’m not sure why people bash them.
-
• #30789
Going into troll mode here, but come on ejay, if you hate them that much, sell me something better!
-
• #30790
Wearing my GS again today.
Never get tired of the polish, proportions & materials.

I was just gently teasing people but it is amazing how quickly people get defensive about them.
Straight into “ I know they look shit but feeeel the quality”
We all have our preferences and that’s what make this forum such a good place to hang out.
And @stonehedge in my opinion any Longines or Omega or Rolex is better but it is just my opinion. -
• #30792
I am right though!

• #30793
I've just had one of my link bars has come loose and fallen out in my jacket sleeve...
So annoying.
... Pocket watch it is then....
-
• #30794
I don't think they look shit.
Of course some of their range isn't for me but that's the same of Rolex, Omega, Patek etc. That's the point of having a range....
-
• #30795
That’s exactly what I mean.
And even I don’t think they all look shit just often overdone. And the rest look like something you can buy in H Samuel. -

Never expected to find watch enthusiasts here on LFGSS :) Nonetheless my contribution, a 2005 LACO Flieger DZVL 09/15. It's a normal Laco Flieger which was customized for a Dutch Watch Site/Forum DZVL. Limited run of 15 watches, this is number 9.

I like the scratched crystal. Looks like you actually wear it wear it.

• #30798
Hell yes! This is worn every day :)
-
• #30799
Which is this?
Overdone or H Samuel?

Nice! Love a good flieger!
Build quality and finish ?!! Look at the photos of that GMT and the uneven gaps at the shoulders, you could drive a bus through there!!
