Was yours attached to a watch at the time?
Cheaper than buying a watch winder tbh.

Always hated these for pure aesthetics, now have bonus reason, thx.

Thank fuck for new pages, that Union flag faced monstrosity was offensive.

Advice please people...
My Seiko SKX007 is running very fast, like 15 minutes a day fast.
What should I do?
Anyone got any recommendations of places to get it looked at? They cost £230ish new so hoping not to spend loads getting it fixed. -
• #30756
Did it happen suddenly? Sounds like it could have become magnetised. Not expensive to fix, or you can even buy your own demagnetiser for a few quid.

I'm not sure. It has always been a bit fast but I kept put off getting it fixed as it was only about 10 minutes a week, but then it got way worse at some point.

Hairspring caught on regulator pins? Apparently a 7s26 problem.

I have a watch with that movement - 7S26-0054 - that I dropped and it started running very fast - much faster than yours. I tried to get it repaired at a couple of places. The first wouldn't even look at it, the second said the movement was 'broken' and that it needed a new one and it would cost £250.
I haven't given up on it, and will take it to Alsal at some point - it's just difficult for me to get there. You may just be better off buying a new watch, though.
EDIT: http://www.alsalwatches.com/
Please post if you do get it sorted!

I’ve had the same problem. Was a very cheap fix at a local (copenhagen) repair shop.

Perrin Watch Parts list a new 7S26 movement for $36USD. Worst case scenario if the movement in yours is completely done is to buy one of those and get it fitted by someone.

Hmm
New ‘Cocktail Time’ from Seiko with snowflakey dial.
Power reserve and ladies versions too:

Not keen on the power reserve.
It's one of those complications that rarely is well executed across the board. Somehow even the hautest of horology manage to make them look like an Argos Orient.

Grand Seiko GMT

Very nice, only 600 of them in the UK available apparently.
If I had the money I'd
get oneput my name on a waiting list. -
• #30766
If by “waiting list” you mean the time it would take a salesperson to accept your credit card and bite your hand off.

Another mechanical question. My Oris keeps stopping - have tried demagnetising, which made things better initially, but doesn't seem to be working as well any more. Likely a spring issue? Are there any decent alternatives to sending it to the official service centre in Bolton?

How old is it?

Seiko doing its usual best to make the images look underwhelming compared to actual photos.
-
• #30770
Not a fan? I'd of thought limited editions would be bought quick to make cashmoney on?
-
• #30771
To get past the shit images, ridiculous pricing and immediate depreciation - you really really have to want to buy a Grand Seiko.
-
• #30772
Agreed, but they’re hardly alone in providing flat, uninspiring, lifeless CGI images. See literally every brand on every jeweller’s website.
-
• #30773
I could not have put that better myself.
-
• #30774
That watch looks like it was designed by a commitee sitting in different rooms.
Limited to what number? -

The thing is, I've yet to wear a Rolex that is in the same league in terms of quality of finish and timekeeping.
I can't deny that the Seiko brand image is virtually nothing alongside Rolex though, hence the huge depreciation.
Enjoyed that, thanks.
