For a digital compact like that with an aps-c sensor you'd don't need flash, as the article says high ISO performance is good enough. You can always put one on the hot shoe if you want a specific effect and there's some fairly tiny flashes around now

Just reading DPR, fairly split on flash or not. I never used mine much, but then as someone who never properly learned flash usage maybe I missed shots that could have succeeded with it.
