I once put a harness on Euronymous, he spent 10mins freaking out (I took it off and put it in the cat cupboard along with the other 90% of things he has no interest in), it was a lot of stress just to let him out on the balcony...

If by the time I retire (If this is still a thing then) I still don’t have my own animal farm, this is what I’d do!

Maybe I’d do both, brush my own animals by lunch time and then go for a nap and brush with shelter’s animals.

Completely black, with just a few slightly lighter/white hairs under their chins. Hard to get good photos of them unless close up or in bright sunshine. They are sisters and quite hard to tell apart, especially now they are very similar weights - one was much smaller than the other for the first year.

Was a suggestion from a niece if I remember correctly. Makes calling them easy as they both respond to either name but I tend to just shout "Ocus!" out the back door. And to be honest we get a better response by clinking their food bowls together.

Lula Balula went to the vets on Saturday (& vomited in the car as she always does). Worst fears were confirmed, the vet thinks it is a tumor but only way to confirm is a biopsy, followed by palliative care. We have decided against the biopsy as she will just get distressed, especially with no positive outcome at the other side.
For now we are finding cat soup is being eaten ok, along with cat milk to get some nutrition in her, & plenty of love & head scratches until she lets us know she has had enough. -

thats sad news - i'm sure youve given Lula a magnificent life and your doing all the right things now in not putting her through any unnecessary stress.
did they give you 'metacalm' or similar to inject into her food or mouth for pain relief?
mine had that for his tumor, and he really perked up on it and had a great quality of life for a long time - its amazing how cats disguise the pain -

They gave us some antibiotics/inflamatories, but she vomited that straight back up. Its tricky with her as she has gastro problems & often brings food back up unless it is super gentle. The perils of adopting an elderly, ill healthed cat! (wouldn't have changed it though, she has seemed to enjoy boat life & gone from an angry to a chilled out soul).

A drugged up cat is a happy cat!
We just came back from the vet and she is all good but a tooth less than this morning. I mean I have got it so all her teeth are still accounted for, just in a different way... 😅
Apparently it’s not a weird thing to ask to keep your cats teeth or whatever parts they take of... 🤔
-
• #8040
Errrr not sure you want all the parts.....!?!?

Not sure if it’s a thing in the UK but in HK, I have heard people being offered their cat’s balls in a pot after the op! 🙈

And do you want to come cuddle Patch for me? She is way tooooooooo affectionate this evening! #itsthedrugs #sheishigh

Not necessarily at the owner’s request, I have heard people commenting on FB about not knowing what to do when the vet offers it... 🙈
Would you want to keep the teeth or am
I just weird? -

She has changed angle, but still sitting there waiting for only she knows what!
I think she is a bit spaced out...

What does everyone do with their cats when they go away? We've had ours for about 4 months now and the last time we were away we had a friend look after them. Have also used Cat in a flat but that was just for a night. We're due to be away near xmas but doesn't' seem our family or friends are going to be able to help this time
Is a cattery something people have used? Any recommendations?

Finally after a full tin, a meet stick and half a tuna steak. The hungry monster is full... I mean, she ate before leaving the vet, surly! I have paid for a meal there! She’d better had it! 🙄
