I've got a grands worth of turbo and I'm slow, when I had a hundred and fifty quids worth I was moderately quick. It's motivation to use it that counts.

£150?
Luxury! My turbo used to get up before I went to bed, give me etc and so on.

You may want some kind of power measuring, or maybe heart rate. I trained with no way to measure my efforts and it wasn't easy.

I should indicate that I use trainer road, I've used hr, and I'm fairly experienced in opening the wardrobe of self doubt Ns climbing in.
Never vomited though.
Clearly never tried hard enough. -

I do trainerroad with a wahoo kickr, it's really good. Surely there's ways to do the same cheaper. A big fan is a great help too

Thoughts on turning yourself inside out on a turbo trainer in your front garden?
Would rather the neighbours didn't have to see it, but we're pretty low on inside space and don't have a back garden.
Would rather my neighbours didn't see me at my worst though...

Meh. They'll get used to it

"ooh look. He's out again."
"Has he vommed?"
" Not yet" -

Is there a virtual ride solution linked to smart trainers other than zwift?
-
• #1836
I do it in the back garden in full view of a tram full of passengers every 8 minutes.

I used Bing Ring VR for a bit when it was free - quite fun. I mainly distracted myself from the effort by trying to work out how they could time-sync a climb to a video and how, if I rode at the same speed as another cyclist in the video, would he be in front of me the whole time? What if I accelerate and pass him - is there a second alternative video when I don't accelerate and he's still in front of me? All got a bit Schrödinger's Inception.

I was sick of missing DHL deliveries so left a note on the front door directing the driver to come round to the conservatory, which doubles as my turbo dungeon.
He got quite a shock when he saw me naked from the waist up grunting and gurning through a VO2 max interval.

• #1839
Did you vomit?
-
• #1840
Cheers. Will give the free trial a go. My laptop too old to run zwift but may just run this...

I simultaneously both vomited and didn't vomit

I think you can pre-download the vids if you have wack internet. I expect it'll also help with processing power too.

Neighbours can probably hear me swearing inside anyway. When I've trained outside I've had people (sounded like Benelux types) walking by compliment my smooth pedaling. No probs. Change of scenery (LOLocopter) is nice.

Anyone got 12mm thru-axle turbo skewer thingie that would work with a Spesh Sequoia?
Or suggest best place to buy one?
Missus is using her Langster for training which is sub-optimal.
-
• #1846
Oh, she's using my JetFluid trainer if that makes a difference.

To answer my own question, Specialized use FINE threaded TAs.

142x12 fine, so: a Traxle Fine T-2100

Not sure if right place. I’m looking to get rollers over turbo. Is it worth a getting a ‘smart’ rollers or normal rollers and spend that sorta money on a power meter?
Just looking to get fitness up and make up for lost time on the roads. Work/kids that sorta stuff
