Potential two-parter ride from my place on Sunday. 30 mile natural loop with ACTUALLY unrideable climbs in the morning, back to mine at lunch to see the dog and then QECP blue and red trails in the afternoon.

Shitting hell. When was this?!

Was it one of those bastard jumping trees?
Hope injuries are superficial and heal quickly.

Ouch! Hope it all heals quickly.
Happy to throw a fiver into the chainsaw fund as needed.

Oh well, I’m happy enough to build the hard tail

9 year old alu full-sus? I'll pass.
-
• #11937
Oh yes, that well-known property of aluminium where it magically turns to tissue paper after an indefinite amount of time. Why, my absurdly -light 25 year old Cannondale 3.0 and 15 year old Specialized S-Works actually crumbled into dust the first times I tried to ride them! How I laughed at my misfortune.
Yes, it's definitely not possible to assess a frame in person and make a judgement on whether it's worth purchasing or not, especially ones built by reputable companies, designed for hard use over many years with long warranties

Steady on, not like geometry has changed at all in that time.

Not like bikes were unrideable and not fun back then either :p

To be fair my 2007 Santa Cruz Nomad is an absolute blast to ride. It would be for sale if anyone was keen actually...

Any one for a quick smash around swinley tomorrow morning?
8:13 train from Vauxhall, swinley by 9:20, fairly lively 2 hours, train back about 12/12:30
I've given my mtb a bit of an overhaul (new bars, stem, saddle, rear mech, cassette, chain, rear hub bearings, brake fluid, brake pads) and should prob ride it at least once before big dog next sat...

Ah would love to but I’m taking baby somewhere that’s air conditioned.

• #11945
I'm ok with opening the windows on the train
-
• #11946
Wait. Is the lookout air conditioned?

The super fancy Level Ultimates are £80 on crc at the mo.
I criticise Shimano brakes all the time. Absolute shite.
(Except Deore. Those are ok)
