Potential two-parter ride from my place on Sunday. 30 mile natural loop with ACTUALLY unrideable climbs in the morning, back to mine at lunch to see the dog and then QECP blue and red trails in the afternoon.

Oh yes, that well-known property of aluminium where it magically turns to tissue paper after an indefinite amount of time. Why, my absurdly -light 25 year old Cannondale 3.0 and 15 year old Specialized S-Works actually crumbled into dust the first times I tried to ride them! How I laughed at my misfortune.

Yes, it's definitely not possible to assess a frame in person and make a judgement on whether it's worth purchasing or not, especially ones built by reputable companies, designed for hard use over many years with long warranties
