  • The wire thread! And if you weren’t watching it on fx, then you don’t know..

  • sorry Corndog but you are brave facing this. a season no better than the last awaits

But last season was hugely successful for Spurs. They overachieved.

  • Naby Keïta: ‘As a child, I played in the streets wearing a Liverpool shirt’
The midfielder idolised Steven Gerrard while growing up in Guinea.

The same selection criteria still seems to be in place.

  • Agreed and protecting our financial investment in those players.
Tbh being a football fan is about the moment, the match, last season, 60/61, next season won't be in my mind when we're playing any game this year.
Maybe this is the Spurs fans 'thing to say' but quite frankly, provided we maintain relative moderation and exist within our means, I couldn't give a stuff where we finish/what we do/don't win; beating Arsenal, winning a cup, finishing top 4 or spending 250m on 4 players?? Those things don't make me support them any more/less when we're playing at Goodison on a Tuesday night or at Colchester in the FA Cup 4th round. Sure, it's nice(r) to win more and European football means greater interest/exposure and more opportunities to support your team plus more opportunities to take interest in your own/other players but actually, being a football fan is about following your team whistle-whistle and none of the other bollocks really matters with the exception that people use their support of a particular football team as a stick to beat others with.

  • Liverpool at 9/2 odds to win the prem.

  • Does that mean if you bet ten pounds

    You lose ten pounds

  • While on paper that seems realistic, in reality we all know it will never happen.

  • This is just too delicious... Absolutely amazing...

  • Passport sticker?

Or is it just the case that it's not near being finished yet?

  • I assume it was epic trolling by the architects, given it's location.

  • "to dare is to do"

  • documentary on bill shankly tonight 10pm bbc2

  • Top trolling by the BBC, helping fuel the Liverpool hype cycle.

  • I didn't twig at all until you posted this picture.

But yeah, now I can see that.

  • History Channel, Shirley?

  • Isn't it wonderful? It's totally made my day... 😂😂😂

  • Sometimes, real life comes up trumps.

  • Tim, your thoughts on next season mate please. I like the new kit if nothing else, its a start

  • New kit is nice (sponsor aside).

Really not sure about this season. A lot of exits and a few still to go. No massive new signings either. Haven't got a clue which way it's going to go.

Considering the mess @villa-ru is going through at the moment, I'm just desperate to spend as little time in the championship as possible.

It's also going to make it 10x harder to get to all the games. I'm going to miss at least 4 home games this season which is as many as the last three seasons put together.

    Are you optimistic?

  • yeah forgot about the sponsor on the shirt. never mind, we have had worse and survived the 'no-smoking years, just.
not upset about the players leaving the club as i never want anybody pulling on the shirt that wants to be elsewhere. three signings so far seem ok. have absolutely no expectations regarding this season and just want to see a return to some better football.
i think we need to make sure we are cutting our cloth accordingly and was upset to discover that we had not only lost our way on the pitch but obviously we have abandoned the tight control we had over the financial side. hope we get that in order first and foremost.
can see it being a slow start and want the fans to remain positive and back Moore.
Hoping we see young players like Field given the responsibility of leading us back.

  • Agreed.
After the end to last season, I'm happy to give big dave plenty of time to get things going.

I hope we give some of the young guys a go too. Field looked really good at times last season and we've got some decent talent returning from loan.

    Let's see what happens.

Shout if you want to head to a game this year....

  • will be in touch when i get a bit of free time. ear marked the brentford game with Des @balmain but that's much later on in the season.

  • I'm definitely headed to the Brentford away game too
